I wonder where they got the fuel for this?
Could it be that horrible Iraqi oil? They are hypocrites!

I am sure they really appreciated that. I was going to write letters but I see the DoD suspended the soldier mail program. Makes sense since there's email and loved ones will be trying to send things to their family.

Steve Martin was on target in his opening monologue!
(Paraphrasing)
1. We got rid of the red carpet for tonight - THAT'LL SHOW 'EM!!!
2. It's important that an actress be tall... pink... thin... skinny... a Democrat... AND skinny.
No political acceptance speeches yet, though.
Continuing to monitor the enemy....

be friends of Richard Gere You may have entered a phrase into our lexicon: "Friend of Richard Gere", ala, "Friend of Dorothy." (actually, the two phrases may mean the same thing, so "F.O.G." may be redundant...:-)

The only thing I would change is the addition of one or two words to the question, making it, "WTF was he doing there?"
LOL! Greta misses the shock and awe. She said it was magnificent Friday night.

I'm watching, mainly because I have a boatload of typing and love Steve Martin, a nice middle-class boy from Garden Grove. I'm hoping he'll keep the rest of the jerks in line...so far I haven't been disappointed. He shot them some great zingers a few years back.
BTW, have you noticed how very FEW of those peace thingies are on the lapels?
To: gg188
No kidding! I have been waiting for someone to ask that same question!

Well, at least the woman who Michael Douglas dumped Maureen Dowd for won (the beautiful Catherine Zeta Jones.) Dowd's next column will be even more tormentedly witchy than usual. (Probably no less boring, however.)

I have been looking for lapel pins and the number of people not wearing them far outnumber the ones that are.
Really needed a diversion tonight and thought Steve Martin would provide it -- he hasn't disappointed!

I think the WSJ ran an editorial on this on Friday. They make a good case for the lefties saying anything they want. It is a free country, you know. We are thus free to refuse to financially support in any way people whose views we find repugnant.
As long as I'm in a ranting mood, how is it that when we identify their speech as reprehensible that we violate free speech, but when they disagree with us and brand us as right wing Nazi extremists (a label that only applies to a few of you out there)and thus totally dismissing us from any attempt at reasonable dialogue, like that's no big deal. (Somewhat disjointed post courtesy of Ambien 10 mg. beginning to crank in)

"the DoD suspended the soldier mail program"
I saw that too so I reverted to email. I have about a kajilion books and I'm trying to find out how to send them to the troops, the ones they might like anyway.

I don't remember where I saw it but there's a program that sends books to the troops. Hopefully a FR who pays more attention that I do will have it. Apparently many soldiers like science fiction, and I have BOXES of Star Wars, Alien Nation, etc.

I'm not watching as it's not anything that interest me... But my daughter called earlier this evening from on scene. She had went down to film the protest and see what else she could film/see. Doing it for a class project... Said she met the Freerepublic group and talked to them a few minutes.

Paul Simon is a good songwriter. The Boxer and Sounds of Silence are two of the most moving songs I've ever heard.
