I apologize for this vanity post, my first.
But I think Drudge overstepped the boundaries of decency by publishing on his front page a picture from Al Jazeera, showing what is purported to be a picture of an American POW.
The Washington Post has an article on it, in case anyone is not familiar with what happened. So far all American Media has refrained from showing pictures of the Al Jazeera video. For Drudge to put up a picture reduces him to well, I rather not say.

I quit going to Drudge a long time ago after I figured out his web-site was the source of tons of pop-up spam. Nothing against Drudge per se, just against him promoting spam!

I agree, but what can we do???
I'm disappointed and aghast.

We are treating the Iraqi POWs as we treat our own people.
The Iraqis are treating our POWs as they treat their own people.

I wish I had read your post before I looked at his site. I certainly am not going back until I get the "All Clear". I'm disgusted with Drudge for this. What if that was his brother, cousin, or whatever? Ba$tard.

I disagree, I think that people should be outraged at Iraq for doing this. Not at Drudge for showing it.
But I also wish that they showed the planes flying into the WTC every week since 9-11 too. So, I may be skewed in my thinking.
I just want America to wake up and see that we are fighting EVIL-- not some sanitized, prettied up version of BAD.

I am so glad I did not link to Drudge. I feared he might show it. I just can not bring myself to view it.

Censorship? I'm for decency. It's like "Why are you for clothing?" Some things are just about decency. Even the liberal media can make that much of a moral connection.
To: FairOpinion
Al Jazeera has even agreed to stop running the video at the request of the Pentagon. Amazing. But I think they are worried about the Geneva Convention.

The picture is degrading to a U.S. soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice. Why can't you see that?

An ugly business, but we might as well steel ourselves to the eventuality now as later.
