Daschle said he has not discussed those comments with the president Of course not. He only takes potshots from a safe distance - one of W's steely looks and Daschle would wither away.
"It has really totally disappeared," Daschle said. "I think people have turned to the war itself and the unity we want to demonstrate for our troops." "
More of his delusional/wishful thinking. He won't be able to escape from the FReepercussions.

Iraq poses no threat...Neither did Usama until 9-11 and after years of planning.

The enemy within. They will not cover anything that shows this action in a favorable light. No kudos, no congratulations, no gratitude to those who risk and sacrifice so THEY can . . . do what they do.

Self-ping for keeping this quote.

Thanks! Very interesting article, indeed.
So the U.N. plan allocates various percentages of the revenues for different parts of the program. Today, that means 59% for Baghdad-controlled central and southern Iraq, 13% to the autonomous Kurdish north, 25% for Gulf War reparations and 0.8% for weapons inspections (what weapons inspections?). And--oh yes--2.2% for U.N. administration of the program, $1.2 billion so far. That's enough that the U.N. secretariat, awash in Iraqi cash, has turned over a surplus $211 million for aid to Iraq. That still leaves a cumulative $1 billion bankrolling U.N. administration of a program that by now, in effect, has the U.N. working, on commission, for Saddam. As a man of integrity, Mr. Annan might want to footnote that in the debate over what to do about Iraq."
It is just sickening. With stuff like this, I almost don't blame the Iraqis of being skeptical of anything labled "humanitarian aid."
Almost.

Does anybody know where the killed western reporter came from? FNC banner said 2 Australian reporters killed, others injured (not sure if all the injured were also Australian).

Can't be said enough: A group of American anti-war demonstrators who came to Iraq with Japanese human shield volunteers made it across the border today with 14 hours of uncensored video, all shot without Iraqi government minders present. Kenneth Joseph, a young American pastor with the Assyrian Church of the East, told UPI the trip "had shocked me back to reality." Some of the Iraqis he interviewed on camera "told me they would commit suicide if American bombing didn't start. They were willing to see their homes demolished to gain their freedom from Saddam's bloody tyranny. They convinced me that Saddam was a monster the likes of which the world had not seen since Stalin and Hitler. He and his sons are sick sadists. Their tales of slow torture and killing made me ill, such as people put in a huge shredder for plastic products, feet first so they could hear their screams as bodies got chewed up from foot to head."
Went to Drudge - two articles (including this one) regarding Iraqi's begging us to stay and save them. Sent articles to liberal friends, reminding them these were likely written by embedded journalists, so they can't claim it's mere propoganda.

Did Chris make it a point to say that most americans are backing this war due to the images they are seeing on the TV of the reporters riding along with our troops?
