First of all, Mexico has traditionally been a good ally, as has Canada. Just because they have their heads up their @sses right now doesn't mean that they're not our friends. But even if Mexico were not our friend, it is in the best interest of the Mexican government that terrorists who snuck into America through our border with Mexico do not succeed in their evil plans. Mexico needs an open border for commercial and economic reasons (including, unfortunately, so that illegal aliens sneak across the border, get jobs in the U.S. and send half their salaries back to Mexico---a major part of their economy). So you can bet that Mexico will do all it can to avoid a terrorist attack in the U.S. that came from our porous common border. "It's not personal, it's business."

And it doesn't mean we should trust them or Canada for our Homeland Security. It's silly to believe the US cannot control it's borders at all ----but that Mexico somehow can. Mexico can't control planes with tons of cocaine arriving from Colombia and landing in their airports with their cargo shipped to the US by other means. We shouldn't have figured they'd keep all Iraqis out of the US.

As a matter of fact, one of my Mexican friends stopped by house on his way to Orlando two months ago, and he was concerned about terrorism in Florida. I told him we cannot let terrorist win, and we should continue to live our normal lives.

Apparently, you have your own agenda, so you will never be convinced.

Look, this open border invasion and mass lawlessness has been allowed to happen for many year. None of the administrations in DC have done a damn thing about it except stand in stone cold silence.

The American people have been *begging* voting, and screaming for relief from this epic invasion of millions for years. It's now a crisis for crips sakes.

I am not pointing the finger at anyone one specific leader or politician. As most *everyone of them* are guilty, for whatever reasons, for allowing this attack on our sovereignty and our borders......It's a national disgrace, and now a danger to every single man, woman and child in America.....

Probably...couldn't find much in a search, except references to Iraqi bombs carrying mustard gas that were destroyed by U.S. missiles and that caused dispersion in the Gulf War. Some vets blame this for the illnesses they contracted. Gotta run...hubby is coming home from out of town tonight! Will check in later.

My vote is for a bean burritto from Taco Bell....I feed a few of those to my 11 year old son and he can singularly take out an entire Iraqi Armored Division....Now that's a WMD!

It's nice to see after 3000 people were murdered in NY that some can find this humorous. Don't think it can happen again? Don't think they could enter the United States with something that can turn this country on it's ear? Something so sinister that the panic alone would cause more deaths than 911? Think again....

It's nice that we have been warned for years about the invasion of millions of illegals from our southern border, now others with agenda's of death to American's can mix right in with the rest of the thousands that are entering illegally, and enter our nation at will.

It can happen. Our open borders are a time bomb.

Okay ---but your friends in Florida wouldn't be the people I'd be worried about. Like the article I linked from 3 weeks ago --where the Mexican police were looking for 3 Iraqis and 1 Mexican traveling together in a luxury car from the Yucatan toward the border ----a Mexican in a luxury car could be someone from a drug cartel ----obviously they know the easy entry points and would do anything at all for money.

I agree that that border security is a problem, and it has been for many years, and will continue to be. The communist countries had barbed wires and guards, They had the Berlin wall to keep their people in, and some people still got through.

What I find offensive is, when some people specifically blame President Bush, as if it never happened before and he just fired all border guards, because he decided we don't need them, when in fact he did do a lot to make the borders more secure, but you can't do everything overnight.

I vote with you on the live virus theory. I cant think of one thing in the nuclear realm that requires refrigeration, and I dont remember any chem weapons that needed refrigeration.

My guess is either smallpox, black pox, or ebola. Not pretty.

I agree 100%. We need to do a better job of defending our borders. But my reply was to a statement that said that Mexico wouldn't try to stop potential terrorists from crossing the border because Mexico is "not our friend." All I said is that (A) they actually are our friends and (B) it's in their selfish best interest that terrorists who crossed the border from Mexico not succeed in their evil plans. Think about it, even if you don't agree with Statement A, Statement B is certainly true.

So again, so there are no misunderstandings, I believe we need to do a better job controlling the flow of illegal immigration and of people bringing stuff in from Mexico or Canada. But, in this particular case, the Federales will make damn sure those potential terrorists are caught.

Geeze, I just logged on and found this and turned on Fox. They just said that FBI has known about this for TWO DAYS. TWO DAYS AGO FBI told GovNapolitano about Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant threat and she placed National Guard troops there.

Can't believe all the silly remarks here, trying to sift through for info. And all the name calling. I guess some of you didn't read the record breaking hits FR has been getting since the bombing began. Maybe people living in Arizona are coming here for a little more information than they get on the news. I AM.

FBI investigates threat on Palo Verde nuclear plant

The FBI is investigating a possible terrorist threat on the Palo Verde nuclear power plant.

FBI Phoenix field office spokeswoman Susan Hersokovits would not comment on the current investigation which the agency is handling in conjunction with other federal, anti-terrorism and security groups.

"We can't comment on current threats," said Hersokovits.

Sen. Jon Kyl met with FBI counter-terrorism officials today regarding possible terrorist threats against the plant which is operated by the Arizona Public Service Co. and located approximately 50 miles west of Phoenix.

The FBI and other security organs are investigating a lead related to a threat against the plant. Federal officials have assured Kyl and fellow Sen. John McCain that necessary precautions are being taken and investigations are proceeding.

But this is not the first such threat against the nuclear facility.

The Palo Verde plant — the largest nuclear power plant in the U.S. and one of the largest in the world — has received numerous threats since September 11, 2001.

The FBI and other law enforcement agencies have investigated each of those threats, all of which have been unfounded.

Hersokovits said the FBI works closely with other federal and state agencies as well as the private security force at Palo Verde.

Gov. Janet Napolitano deployed armed Natural Guard troops to Palo Verde earlier this week at the request of Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge.

The plant opened in 1986. It is owned by several Southwestern utilities including APS, SRP and companies in California, Texas and New Mexico.

You wouldn't mean the Mexico that continues to deny that the U.S. even has a right to the Southwest? The Mexico of Villa and the Columbus raid, which led to Pershing traipsing all over northern Mexico, and then to the establishment of the Border Patrol? The Mexico of the Zimmerman letter, which took us into WWI? The Mexico that supports and succors drug smuggling, human smuggling, and money laundering? The Mexico that told us to pound sand after 9/11? The Mexico that has NEVER fought in any major war (except against their own people) alongside ANY allies for ANY good reason? The list goes on and on and on.

Want to read some real bad stuff? Do a web search on Reyes Tijerina. And then, imagine a whole country full of people who sympathise with him. Then see if you can blather a feel good nonsense statement like "good ally".
