PMSNBC now whining about a major atrocity, apparently US forces temporarily removed an Iraqi flag and raised a US one after a tough fight in the Basrah area. Some sniveling liberal in British parliament raised a stink about it, and now the media has their ridiculous token wedge issue to rail against the 'imperialist' US about.

"We are entering Iraq to free a people and the only flag which will be flown in that ancient land is their own. Show respect for them."-Lieutenant Colonel Tim Collins,1st Battalion of the Royal Irish Regiment
US FLAG MOVED FROM PORT
A US Stars and Stripes flag has been removed from the new port town of Umm Qasr just over the Iraqi border from Kuwait.
Umm Qasr was taken after British Royal Marine Commandos troops were called in to break the fierce Iraqi resistance which pinned down American troops for two hours.
No reason was given for the decision, but Washington has consistently stressed that invading forces want to liberate Iraq, not occupy it.

If I understand correctly, there wasn't even an "Iraq" until Winston Churchill
drew lines on a map after WWI.
OK, let 'em fly their flag.
They'll see lotsa' Old Glory (or the Union Jack) on every functional fighting
vehicle (terrestrial or airborne) within the borders of Iraq for the next year or so.

I'll be glad when this tiresome trend of the over-use of the word "whining" is finally over. It's getting really stale.

I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumors and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are. If I killed them all there would be news from Hell before breakfast. - Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman

Did anyone see on CNN within the last hour or so that Wolf Blitzer interviewed
at length a so-called journalist on the scene in Bagdhad, one May Ying Welsh by name? A simple google search reveals that she is affiliated with Ramsey Clark and several Communist front organizations. This may explain why, instead of simply describing what was happening, she was railing (or whining, if you prefer) about how many civilians would die and claiming that the U.S. hadn't hit any Iraqi govt. buildings of significance. She even implied that no govt. officials even were there, just "cleaners," i.e., the night janitor! LOL
Way to go CNN. Unbiased? I think not.
To: mountaineer
Nice catch, mountaineer! The Commie Nonsense Network is in overdrive, spewing its anti-US propaganda.
To: Bonaparte
Don't you think maybe, in the interest of appearing unbiased, Wolfie might have told the viewers about this woman's prejudices? Naaahh.
To: Bonaparte
They have to prove to their elite audience that they have not gone over to the American side. So they make stuff up, and put on unverified rumors.
The search and reach for something negitive to balance the good that the military is showing.
To: mountaineer
Let the viewers know her prejudices? So far, they've made no effort at all to let their viewers/readers/listeners know that most all of the "protests" against the war are organized and orchestrated by self-described communists. Blitzer's deception is just an extension of what the media have been doing all along -- misrepresenting the "peace" protest sponsorship by communists and virtually blacking out reporting of demonstrations in favor of our President and US action in Iraq.
To: Diddle E. Squat
The spoils of war. I'm sure the Iraqi flag will be used as a huge opportunity to give back to the Iraqi people.
Goes to show more that the whiners are so short sighted.

My second nomination for Quote of the Day goes to General William Tecumsah Sherman :)
Also -- Please, no references to spilled milk, ok? That image is too deeply burned into my conciousness of the protesting idiots at the puke-in. Thank you. Very much. OK!

I just have a thing about buzzwords. It was okey a couple of years ago, but has been over-used. I guess you can say I am whining about "whining"!
