Current Los Angeles Protests Turning Ugly (Thursday night)

Gathered information from KFI radio, local television, and police scanner:

The idiots at the corner of Wilshire & Veteran are growing in number, cops are starting to fight back (hear a lot of "double time" and "need it yesterday"), and reports are that the crowd is starting to burn flags.

Before its newscast ended, KABC-TV showed riot-geared police pushing folks out of streets and onto sidewalks. The poor reporter was obviously shaken and quake-voiced. Looked ugly and sounds like it's getting worse as of 19:02.

Scanner: LAPD air unit just said people are pulling slingshots out of their bags;

Peacefull protesters equiped with Biblical weapons?

If they are hunting slingshots they throw a steel pellet at about 100-400fps. Those are considered deadly force. Let's hope the police respond in kind.

I *wish* these morons would try this nonsense here in Philly so we can have a repeat of the Republican Convention.

- chain yourselves together: that's a no-no statewide. Do not pass GO, go directly to jail. PSP (PA State Police) has no problem locking these cretins up. Most of them are from rural PA, and trust me, they despise them. PA is Pittsburgh in the west, Philly in the east, and ALABAMA everywhere else :)

- wear masks or otherwise cover your faces: see above. Bye-bye, see you in 72 hours.

I triple-dog-dare them to try it in Delaware County. We have county-wide assist here, and I know of specific cops whose major goal in life is to shoot some of these people dead (given reason). Go ahead, try rioting :)

The best line I heard on TV during the convention: "there hasn't been much protesting since Wednesday, just a small group of ten or so, and they were just waiting for the others to get out of jail."
