Sarcasm does not become you. FYI I refused to join NEA. I did teach HS students who though they griped and screamed that I was "too hard" returned from their first year of college to hug me and thank me for teaching them well. I'm proud of that later appreciation, for I was not too popular at the time, having demanded excellence and respect instead.
Now, if you don't mind, let's get back to the subject of this thread.....the war.
To: GOPrincess
So are SCUD missiles on the list of things Iraq said it didn't have? Yep. He's not supposed to have them.
I just saw an interview with Inspector Clouseau, oops, Hans Blix, and could not believe my lying ears. The reporter asked if we could safely assume Iraq had Scuds it shouldn't have, being that they fired some at our troops and everything. STILL Blix hemmed and hawed and alleged that the inspectors couldn't know if they have them and they may have been left over, Martians could have planted them, the dog ate the directions to the Scud factory, yada, yada.
I hate living in a world with people like this. They just get in the frigging way.

I really think this thing is over.
The key was the fact he said the Iraq people did not have to flee~
It will be over in less than a week!.........

Yes, SCUDS are on the list of weapons Iraq said they didn't have (anymore). They have a range of 400 - 500 miles and were used to attack Israel in the 1991 war.

After all, that is your nature. You don't know me, so do not be so presumptious. Enough, ok?
To: RetiredArmy; aristeides
I have detested Gephard for years, and still think his politics are wrong, and his robotic support of Clinton detestable.
But facts is facts: the man supported the President when it counted, in wartime, and paid for it by losing his legislative career. He's now getting booed by his own party for the same thing; I'll be surprised if his presidential candidacy makes it past the Iowa caucuses. Whatever else he has done, he has behaved honorably in this important instance, to his great personal disadvantage.
And if you answer me the way you answered Aristeides, be advised that you will be ignored. Abuse and insult don't become more impressive when you up the font size.
To: Carolinamom
Look I gave you the last word, so how many do you need?
To: Fishtalk
I tend to agree with you. Let's hope and pray that we're right.

And a car chase. How many little windows can we watch at once? For someone who doesn't like Fox News Channel, you sure do spend enough time talking about it. Switch over already! I'll be enjoying all the "bells and whistles," thank you.

Many, many thanks for the live thread link, TomKat, I hadn't located it yet for some reason.

I would never have believed that I would be writing sympathetically about Gephardt, but you're right: the man did the right thing and supported the President at the right time and then his brain-dead party made him the scapegoat for their bungled election. And the irony is, if they had all done what he did, they would probably have done much better in '02. Agreed.
We may not agree with Gephardt, but he is no Daschle or Clinton.

Thanks to you both for the Scud info :).
To: Fishtalk
If there were a bug inside him, why not just knock him off with a CIA killing squad? It would have saved a lot of time and money.
A "senior defense official" alluded to the fact that Hussein's close aides may have sold him out. Whether it's true or just propaganda, who knows?

Oh, golly gee Mr. Rogers. I am so, so sorry.
To: HairOfTheDog
Aw they all do it. I agree. But I still trust FNC more than the others (though I do also watch MSNBC) to give me both sides of a story.
