I agree with your analysis. Hope you are on target - if it could only be so easy. Within the next couple hours we will see if we start the big bombing campaign..
To: Fishtalk
Thank you so much for your reply!
Again, I agree with your increased confidence. The disorganized, impotent military reaction by Iraq - and more importantly, the press conference tone and message to the Iraqi people - points in that direction.

Good thing I don't actually watch him on TV! Wow, I'm surprised at how many women just like myself are watching this thing so closely. Assuming a princess and an alamo-girl are females. Fishtalk might not sound female, but I am.
Everything I'm hearing leans toward that surgical strike doing its job. Which has me wondering just what kind of intelligence they had to lead them to such a determined act to scrap earlier plans and send in over 40 missiles. So I must speculate again, I am such a good speculator, that somehow, some way, the US managed to implant some sort of bug directly inside Hussein.
Okay, this theory might be off the wall but hey, we're America, home of Hollywood. We can do anything!
Further speculating, I think the US knew that chip was somehow inside Hussein...I don't know, maybe a dentist planted something inside his teeth...something Hollywood. I think the US knew right along every movement of Hussein and this was part of the plan right along.
Hey, it's off the way but you all will be amazed at my intuition should it come true.

"Peter Jennings was playing on the radio here in So. CA"You note last night in prime time that Brocaw was on NBC and MSNBC, Rather was on CBS and Aaron Brown of CNN was on CNN and ABC. No Jennings. I guess the new face of ABC News is Aaron Brown.

If you think that Gephard is a Patriot, then we need to come up with a new name for Patriots. There is no way that this leftist, communist loving socialist is a Patriot. You slime the very name of each and every Patriot who has ever lived and is currently living by calling Dick Gephard a Patriot. You sir or whatever you are, are a complete fool if you believe that!

Gephardt may be a leftist, but his actions have shown he is a patriot. Gephardt's roots are in an old fashioned kind of New Deal Liberalism that is no longer crazed enough for the Democratic base. The sad thing, in a way, is that Gephardt has carried water for organized labor for decades, and they've moved Left of him too.
I would never have believed that I would be writing sympathetically about Gephardt, but you're right: the man did the right thing and supported the President at the right time and then his brain-dead party made him the scapegoat for their bungled election. And the irony is, if they had all done what he did, they would probably have done much better in '02.

whoa RetiredArmy, your message is permanently burned into my brain.

Yep, I am a woman :). Have always been fascinated by history/politics, etc. I too will be interested to learn more down the road about how we acquired the intelligence leading to last night's strike, if it is able to be disclosed.
So are SCUD missiles on the list of things Iraq said it didn't have?
To: goodseedhomeschool; GOPrincess
Thanks to both of you. Separate thread and/or freepmail will enable you to pursue homeschooling topic.....a very good and interesting one, but.... (BTW I am a retired teacher who taught content and skills.)

As country singer Toby Keith said, "He's Canadian isn't he?"

I have yet to meet even ONE patriotic democrat ever.
To: Carolinamom
Yes carolinamom I knew (a hunch) that you were probably a government connected teacher in some way. It has been my experience that the most hostile towards homeschooling are indeed the NEA induced mindset. We promise to be good today.

Sorry dude if it hurt!

. but hey, the ones who ARE conservative and savvy are also the best workers! You are sooooo right. Give me a happening and politically astute young person and I'll show you someone who is going to succeed. I'll even go one step further though you might disagree, I'd assert that even a liberal but thoughtful person is an asset. Just so long as they pay attention to what's going on in the world and how it impacts them.
Of course, I'd always hire a conservative over a liberal but if you tell anyone I said it I'll have to deny it. ;)
To: RetiredArmy
IMHO ... Gephardt is nothing but an opporuntist (sp?) and knows we will win this war and doesn't want to be left out in the cold
Only 30% or less are against this war .. Gephardt is thinking about the other 70+% of the voters
Gephardt is thinking about 2004
