Uh oh, I was watching the Seventh on CNN when Walter Rogers said that there might be a hostile formation in the area.
We might get to see a gunfight tonight.

(You will all be shot unless you download the Saddam screensaver...)
Fox reporter just gave a story of three Iraqis jumping out with AKs and shooting at a Bradley. Natural selection at work.

Saddam Update: Peter Jennings read a Washington Post article that will be out tomorrow (probably on the net now) that says Saddam's mistress, who has correctly identified Saddam vs. his look-alikes from pictures and television shots about a doz. times, has taken a lie detector test and said it's NOT Saddam in the clip we saw of his early this morning. Additionally, I think it was 3 high ranking military officials have said "we know he was in the building with one or more of his sons and we know he didn't leave the building". He's either dead or injured they believe - they know that emergency medical attention was requested.
I know the White House came out today and said it was Saddam on the clip. Saw an article earlier on FR that I can't appropriately reference but it said there were a # of reasons why we'd want the Iraqi people to think he was still alive. Can't remember them all but the article was read on line and sounded very credible. Maybe we got lucky with this one. 'nite all

can you imagine if GWB got Saddam with the first shots the first night!!!!Hmmmm. I'm just not that optimistic yet. If he WERE goatmeat, I suppose the Iraqi leadership might be trying to negotiate surrender...which would mean our troops would be speeding toward Baghdad to accomodate them. Well, they're speeding allright. Can't say what direction they're going. Worth considering.

3rd Infantry meeting with some skirmishes per Sky News.

This is strange...perhaps it means Saddam is dead. Maybe it means his Republican Guard is afraid to fight. Or they are holding back and it could be a trap.I hate to think about the last part but I have been concerned that they might be drawing us in.
Remember how we were drawn in at Somalia? I know this is a totally different situation but something is strange that there has not been more resistence.

Nope the [] is used in UBB code where as <> is html. You can use html on a UBB board but not the other way around.

Just saw on C-SPAN House coverage. Representative Steve Buyer (R- Indiana) was granted leave. He was ordered to report to his military unit. The House applauded his service.
