Here we go......on his orders they are striking military targets...opening stages of what will be broad and concerted campaign with 35 countries giving crucial support.
Every nation has chosen to bear the duty and share the honor of serving in our common defense....to armed forces...oppressed people now depend on you....the people you liberate will witness the honorable and decent spirit of the American military.....the enemy has no regard...saddam has placed equipment in civilian areas as shields...a final atrocity against his people....coalition forces will make every effort to spare civilitians....could make for a longer war.....will require our sustained commitment, we come with respect for Iraq with respect ....without ambition except to remove threat and restore it to its people......millions of Americans are praying with you for the safety of your loved ones....you have the gratitude and respect of the American people...our forces will be coming home as soon as they're done....the people of the US will not live at the mercy of an outlaw regime....we will meet that threat NOW with our military, so we don't have to meet later...on the streets of our city....limit duration by applying decisive force....no outcome but VICTORY....my fellow citizens...the dangers will be overcome...pass thru this time of peril and carry on the work of peace...we will prevail...may God bless our country and all who defend her..

That, for me, is a comforting thought. The price will be high, but lack of action will be higher...

If Jim Rob wants no photos, then I shall not post them. Does anyone know if this is 'official'? Personally, with events happening so quickly, I'd rather the thread not get bogged down with photos.

I posted this on another thread ..... would like to repeat it here .... excuse the vanity.A couple of random thoughts I've had.
A daybreak attack was unexpected ..... but would be so much less frightening for the citizens of Iraq than to have the bombs coming in during the night. A gesture by our President towards the people of Iraq?
A couple of lines from our National Anthem keep going through my head .....
..... "Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light ..."
..... "The land of the free"
May the people of Iraq soon taste of freedom!
May God be with the troops in the liberating forces!

Last week or so, there was a thread about graphics. The Admin Mod said graphics had no affect on the bandwith. I don't know the technical details. But bottom line, no prob with graphics.
