BOMBING SEEMS TO HAVE BEGUN NEAR BAGHDAD, CHECK THIS WEBCAM, YOU CAN HEAR THE BOMBS IN THE DISTANCE
msnbc ^

Posted on 03/19/2003 6:32:45 PM PST by ranair34

It seems to have begun. Go to this link: http://www.msnbc.com/m/mw/mw.asp?t=V&id=live_video/chan1&sk=live_video&pl=&name=cover&opt=0 and turn up your volume. You can hear what sounds like planes (who knows, maybe its missles) flying overhead, then you hear what sounds like bombs going off in the distance. This just began about 10 minutes ago, it has been totally quiet.

Why does MSNBC have night-vision green on, if its now day in Iraq?
Good question; the other nets have regular cams running.

More drama -- in 1991 they had those awful night vision green images so they want to match that reto-look. Looks more sinister that way.

Bingo... this gives the Human Shields just enough time to soil their undies before the show starts.

Perhaps not, but I DEFINTELY heard *some* action. Its zero dark thirty in Bugdead, I heard something besides normal Middle Eastern middle-of-the-night city sounds.

anyone know that song Bombs Over Baghdad? By Outkast?

I completely jumped and hollared with my brother over the phone when we heard the first kabooms! Then we started singing that song at the same time. Is this going to be a long night or what?

Actually I'm using both MSNBC and BBC feeds. Picture is better on BBC, but MSNBC seems to be shooting a more central part of the city...

Prediction--I think the US is actually waiting for sunrise to maximize the visual effect of the onslaught. The cruise missles don't care what time of day it is. The stealth aircraft will wait until the night.

why the iraquis keep the city lights "on"?????

It dosn't make any difference. Our forces don't need to visually see targets any more.
