Incredible

Posted on 03/19/2003 4:56:10 PM PST by conservativefromGa

I'm currently watching a MSNBC live stream on my computer of downtown Baghdad. I see buses and cars and people walking buy, waiting for bombs to drop. I can hear all the sounds too. Welcome to war in the 21 century.

How do we know the Iraqi's haven't just dubbed in a loop of video tape;
like they did in that movie "Speed"?
h-m-m-m-m-m?

The audio is very interesting. That mic is gained up, and there is a ton of compression articfacting, but the cars that occasionally pass on the road visible at the bottom of the picture are making some incredible noise ... will definately be able to hear anything that happens anywhere in the city. There is some artifacting in the audio, but I swear it does sound like birds chirping, and now sounds like a call to prayer.

I have had a 100k stream for 55 minutes.

Maybe it's like crickets or something that are distorted by the WMP encoder? It gets pretty cold at nite tho, eh? I saw weather reports saying lows in Baghdad of 6C or so. Prolly not crickets.

Somebody's gotta make the donuts.

Does anyone know what time is dawn in Baghdad today?

Maybe we can hear the dawn call to prayer.

I do not think Fox has an internet link.

It did, till it pooped out a few weeks ago. Wish I had it again.
