Bush could veto the bill because it didn't include ANWR, but that would be very unusual.
I believe the language could be put back in by the House at conference so that it would have to be voted on again under budget rules.

E-mail the President to VETO this bill when it reaches his desk. This was an amendment taking funding for ANWR drilling out of the budget bill. The President can't veto a refusal to fund something. He can veto the whole budget bill when it passes, but that won't authorize funding for oil drilling.

We will be drilling in ANWR shortly after the 2004 elections.

Hey, has anybody noticed that this gives us a list of pro-Saddam Senators?
It's long overdue to round these people up.

Boxer's just jealous because nobody's wanted to drill her in thirty years.

By next year Iraq will be producing 4 times the amount of oil that currently produce.. on top of that they will be more than happy to sell it to us. ANWAR while it would be nice can go to the eco guys.. it hardly matters now.

To: Ann Archy
Sorry, I would like to apologies personally for norm. This is MN.
For the time being it was the best we could do.
I wonder how much corn it will take to make up the difference.

There are lots of "republicans" in the way of weaning off middle east oil. I;ll bet a few dems voted for it.
Last I checked it was the usual suspects and a couple surprises.
Coleman......grrr....no on tax breaks too. this newbie has guts though. wrote me asking for money after election
to pay for overspending. i said i'd wait and see how he votes. he is 0-2
Chaffe, why not, he is a democrat basically
specter, same
Snowe, maine
Collins, maine. maine must love high heat oil costs
and the grand-daddy of the flip flopping inconsistents
John McCain.
not positive all these voted against boxer amendment but all recently against development of 2000 of 140 million acres of frozen, gushy mosquito infested in summer, gets 4 tourists a year, sod.

Coleman is well on his way to joining the obstructionist wing of the republican party. he got the jitters on tax cuts too since winning his first senate election.

Every now and then a mammal might show up. Actaully alot do, but not at the same time and not for very long. They all migrate. And when something is in the way, they go around it. They walk about 400 miles east, then about 2000 west back each year. The 15 minutes it takes to walk around a gravel pad for the handfull that it is in their path, does not really make much diference to them.
