http://www2.bitstream.net/~dmevers/ht/5_element2_b.jpg Whenever I hear the name "Aziz" I think of the kid from the beginning of the film "The Fifth Element" - you know the one holding the brass plate for the archeologist? He keeps shouting "Aziz! Light!"

What's the difference between an Iraqui Woman and a Pilchard?
One's greasy, has scaly skin and smells ........................ the other one's a fish!Ah, come on now. I'm sure there are some nice women in iraq. They've just been under the oppressive yoke of hussain and the ba'ath party for way too long.
Now, if you make one change:
What's the difference between a french woman and a Pilchard? One's greasy, has scaly skin and smells ........................ the other one's a fish!
then I'll buy it wholeheartedly!

Aziz was one of the ones we slated for transitioning the new provisional government.....Post Saddam C'mon... Did you make this up? Tarik Aziz has been Saddam's spokesmouth for years! If he is down, this is good news, IMHO.

Der Spiegel says it has learned from its own sources in North Iraq that Aziz fled to Arbil and joined opposition groups there. The strange comment of Aziz's office (that he's on a trip) is confirmation that something's up, as is Aziz's absence from press meetings in Baghdad the past few days.

According to Fox News this morning, he was on our dirty dozen hit list of Iraqi's we wanted captured or killed. I don't think he is a candidate for the new government.

Great psyops, aimed at the "Bagdad Street." With the Iraqi leaders all hiding in bunkers, we are free to start all types of rumors, leading to a rapid undermining of any remaining Ba'ath Party authority.
Expect the green uniforms to be going into the trash as we speak. There may be few mass surrenders, because by the time we arrive in Bagdad, there will be no uniformed Iraqi soldiers left. They will all be in civvies greeting our troops with the rest.

In this case, however, the origin of this rumor appears to be in Bulgaria. US officials are denying the reports.

Not true: Aziz was one of the top 4 for us to get for crimes along with saddams sons and chemical ali. It's only a shame he got shot if he can not be brought to justice.

Denial from Iraq (but through a spokesman):
Channel NewsAsia
Iraq has denied rumour that its long-serving Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz has defected. "Tareq Aziz continues to carry out his work in Baghdad," Uday al-Tai, director general of Iraq's information ministry, told reporters.
