I'll take Debka's word over MSNBC any day. Debka says:
DEBKAfile exclusive: Kurdish sources confirm that Iraqi deputy prime minister Tareq Aziz is in their hands and is being questioned by US intelligence officials.

Is Harmesh Kumar really Saddam Hussain?
He didn't half go off on one this morning.
What's the difference between an Iraqui Woman and a Pilchard?
One's greasy, has scaly skin and smells ........................ the other one's a fish!

Yeah, there were lots of these kind of rumors at the beginning of GWI -- one was that Saddam was going into exile (imagine that one!)
This is the fog of war beginning. I predict there will be at least 10 rumors of such magnitude -- some rumors directly contradicting others -- before 5:00 PST today.

U.S. Denies as 'Not True' Rumors on Iraq's Aziz
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. officials on Wednesday said rumors that Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz had either defected to U.S. authorities or was shot trying to flee Baghdad were untrue. "These rumors are just not true," a U.S. official told Reuters. The rumors affected oil prices in New York trading and also circulated in financial markets as the 8 p.m. EST deadline approached that President Bush set for Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and his sons to leave Iraq or face war.

I just got an email from him asking me if I wanted larger breasts.

I just posted this on another thread about Azizz.
" I wondered when Azziz would bail. Even if this isn't true now, it will be soon. He never struck me as the Goebbels type, who will take cyanide for the Fuhrer. "
I think Bush's message the other night to the Iraqi Generals hit home. Eventually they will either all leave, or get together and take care of the problem themselves.

How many different ways CAN I spell Aziz?

According to
Der Spiegel, Aziz's office says he's just away on a trip for a week.
