An Observation

Just as predicted, now that essentially the 'fix is in' for an American and Allied LIBERATION OF IRAQ, (the second such liberation of a Near East country by President Bush that is under tryanny), notice how nearly all the assorted liberals, demoncrats, nay-sayers and anti-American appeasement types have dropped their new-found pablumic religion of showing how terrible North Korea is, in favor of a new-found silence.

For months on end, all they talked, whined and snorted about was 'how repressive, dangerous and evil North Korea was/is under Kim Jong il' and that we should do something quickly.

Even an idiot would know they were never, never sincere! Because few of them ever said a G****D thing about "North Korea" over the last few years, prior to the conflict with Iraq. They were silent nearly to a man, a woman and a White House intern during the coddling, appeasing Clinton Administration.

But now? Why, dead silence.

Brain Dead.

Non-Issue.

Flatlined.

Yes, indeed. President George W. Bush will soon be finished with evil country #2 and move on to evil country #3, let's start resurrecting ALL those colorful and emotional comments ranging from Ted Kennedy on downward into the shameless liberal abyss about how evil North Korea is, that the continuation of its terrible regime is unacceptable, and that 'oh my, it is much worse than Iraq!' (sic).

Good point, because, above all, if they scream loudly enough that NK is a threat, Bush MAY take them seriously and liberate THAT friggin country next! BTW, did you see the FOX PBS special piece on NK that the "Fox and Friends" people had? It was chilling---how the streets are empty, but they have a cop out there directing traffic anyway? An Owellian society.

It's not only liberals who have attempted to shine a spotlight on the issue of North Korea vs. Iraq, but some ultra-rabid-conservatives like myself as well. For some of us the shoes of hypocracy are just a bit too tight. And not just with regard to North Korea, but Cuba as well.

So, why have I become quiet on this issue? For one thing, as George Burns would say..."It's been done". Additionally, and more to the point, this is not the time to be shooting off one's mouth, but rather the time to be battening down the hatches.

The funny part about this is all of the Democrats were on the presidents back because they wanted him to move "multilaterally" on the issue of Iraq but in the same breath they were saying that he should conduct "bilateral" negotiations with North Korea. I can't figure out why the press and the Republicans haven't called them on this.

There is also a very big silence on the part of other Middle Eastern nations. Only a couple have uttered a suggestion that perhaps Saddam should consider exile. The others....silence.

Nothing from Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia.

They seem to be treating Saddam like the weird Uncle at Thanksgiving that no one wants to spend time around or sit next to at dinner.

Methinks this speaks volumes about what they know and/or suspect about the great Iraqi leader.

Word is that NK could flatten Seoul in an hour or so with a pre-emptive strike. We might need nukes to stop it. I assume we have subs in place for this purpose. That's why we want our troops away from the border.

After 3/17, most Democrats (minus Daschle) came out of their liberal fog to realize, "F***! In 48 hours, There's actually going to be a liberated Iraq."

Their entire world-view of coddling communists, appeasing dictators and futzing with the UN went as dead as a dodo as soon as the Presidential microphone went silent. They are terrified that Bush will actually defeat one or more member(s) of the Axis of Evil. Not because it's good for Presidential poll numbers but because their kind does not want to see freedom spread across the world. If it were up to Modern Liberals, we would still be apart of the English empire until Marxism came around to "liberate" us from monarchy and despotism.

You know that there's something terribly wrong when any political party fears freedom for persecuted peoples around the world more than despots and destruction.
