BLAME AMERICA FIRST? ON THE EVE OF WAR, DASCHLE TRIES TO GAIN PARTISAN ADVANTAGE
With American Troops Poised To Fight, Daschle Blames Potential War Casualties On President Bush
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
SENATOR TOM DASCHLE: Im Saddened, Saddened That This President Failed So Miserably At Diplomacy That Were Now Forced To War. Saddened That We Have To Give Up One Life Because This President Couldnt Create The Kind Of Diplomatic Effort That Was So Critical For Our Country. (Senator Tom Daschle, Remarks At International Association Of Firefighters Conference, 3/17/03)
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
BEFORE LAST NOVEMBERS ELECTION, DASCHLE SUPPORTED USE OF FORCE IN IRAQ AND RECOILED AT POLITICIZING DEBATE
Senator Daschle Voted For The Resolution To Authorize The Use Of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq Last October. (H. J. Res. 114, Roll Call #237: Passed 77-23: R 48-1; D 29-21; I 0-1, 10/11/02, With Daschle Voting Yea.)
Last Fall, Daschle Decried Accusations Over National Security. We ought not politicize this war. We ought not politicize the rhetoric about war and life and death.
We have to rise to a higher level.
[I]t is not too late to forget the pollsters . . . the campaign fundraisers . . . [the] accusations about how interested in national security, different parties are. (Senator Tom Daschle, Congressional Record, 9/25/02)
Daschle Said Never Once Did He Politicize The War In Iraq In 1991-92, And Hoped We Would Have the Same Level Of Debate This Time. I can recall in 1991 and 1992
when President Bush made the decision he did. I can recall several of my staff coming to me, suggesting that we say this or that. But never once did I have someone on my staff
refer to the politics of the war with Iraq.
We need that same level of debate this time
(Senator Tom Daschle, Congressional Record, 9/25/02)
IN 1998, DASCHLE SUPPORTED USE OF FORCE IN IRAQ AND CALLED FOR BIPARTISANSHIP
Daschle Recognized That Saddam Hussein Leaves Us Little Choice But The Use Of Force. [C]learly the intransigence on the part of the Iraqi government and Saddam Hussein leaves us little choice at this point
So I would think that, if nothing changes, the use of force at some point would be inevitable. (William Neikirk, Congress Talks Tough On Iraq, Chicago Tribune, 2/5/98)
Daschle Wanted A United And Bipartisan Message That Iraq Must Comply. Iraq must comply. There is no choice. We stand united in our determination to do whatever is necessary
The United States has the resolve to ensure that compliance and we stand united today in an effort to articulate that very clear message as loudly, as unequivocally, and in as much of a bipartisan way as we can. (Senator Tom Daschle, Congressional Record, 2/12/98)
Daschle Called For Immediate Iraqi Compliance Or Threat By Force Would Be Required. [A]bsent immediate Iraqi compliance
the security threat doesnt simply persist it worsens. Saddam Hussein must understand that the United States has the resolve to reverse that threat by force, if force is required. (Senator Tom Daschle, Congressional Record, 2/12/98)
SO WHY, ON THE EVE OF WAR, HAS DASCHLE CHANGED HIS TUNE?

Daschle is a miserable, contemptible piece of cr*ap. And, the people who voted for him are worse.

> Im Saddened, Saddened That This President Failed So
> Miserably At Diplomacy ...
This is seriously bad news for The Onion.
There's no possible way for them to parody this.
Daschle has clearly forgotten the first rule of holes:
when you find yourself in one; stop digging.
To: Tax Government
If they vote for Daschle this time around, I give up on SD -- pork is then more important than the Country.
Are we going to hear the cry for him to resign? Bet the press ignores it for the most part!

rather ineffectual demogoguery at that. What do you think is leading the Daschle's of the world, on this path of destruction? Or perhaps I should have asked who?
Daschle has gone from majority leader in the Senate, to basically a saluting, yes sir man in the Democrat party. The good news IMHO is that Daschle has already decided he will not seek re-election(or someone decided for him)
The question still remains why or who?
To: Boundless
I think daschle has the absolute worst timing of any politician. Everytime he really goes after the President, something happens which makes him look like a moron! When is he going to quit being the mouthpiece for Hillary?

Howdy
It is my belief that the hard core believers in communism as an ideal, and socialism as the best practice of that ideal, are in love with and are in alliegance to a socialist America that does not exist, and are enemies of and traitors to the America which is and always has been the greatest hope for mankind.
Senator daschle, senator kennedy, barbara boxer, and the whole host of American socialist politicians are enemies of liberty, enemies of truth, enemies of justice, and enemies of the American Way.
These deluded, hateful, twisted mongers of socialist enslavement are a real and present danger to the Union. They make common cause with anybody who seeks the death of American citizens and the destruction of the United States Constitution which they swore to protect.
Outrages against America are their pattern and practice, and have been since treason came into vogue in the Vietnam era.
It is little wonder that such diseased, despicable cretins provoke gastric distress upon loyal American citizens.
Take heart, their hatred for the foundations of American society is as dysfunctional and obsolete as the false promise of communism. They are following the moldering corpse of marxism, communism, socialism, and collectivism in general into its unheralded grave.
And it is outrageous conduct like this blatant, false politization of today's grave state of affairs that hasten the demise of modern liberalism and the careers of diseased adherents to that philosophy from political life.

Politician rather than statesman...
Love for political party rather than country...
To: 4NOMOREGORE
I would vote for that and even make a donation to ship him out of the Country!

I am as angry as everyone else is and will e-mail the idiot tonight so that he can't blame Rush or anybody else in his typical effort to displace the voices in America.
I will ask him...How saddened, saddened were you for those who lost their lives at the direction of bin Laden, while you and yours did nothing? How saddened, saddened were you on September 11 when you saw the failures of seriousness and resolve to heed the warnings? You sir are a shameless opportunist, nothing saddens you except your political losses.

"Tom, you are a pitiful excuse for a man."
He is a tiny man in a job that he towers over. He serves the devil that is the democratic party. Why? Because we allow it.
To: pipecorp
The "D" stands for something far worse: Democrat!!
