OTTAWA -
Prime Minister Jean Chrétien said Monday that Canada will not go to war against Iraq.
He said the government would only support military action if there were a United Nations Security Council resolution, and the Council backers of an attack decided Monday to withdraw their resolution.
Without a resolution, "Canada will not participate," Chrétien said to cheers in Parliament.
The U.S. and Britain, which has been seeking suport for the resolution, withdrew it when it became clear that it did not have enough backing to pass.

"If we invade Canada, will these cowards fight or become kneepadders????"
We'd fight you with the 'pads' if necessary......but when it's all over, I'll save you a pair so that you can kneel in front of me.
Spare us the stupid 'blanket statements'.....and go 'root-out' the 50% of your populace, which is your 'homegrown' Liberal problem.
You've got plenty of work to do......yourselves.

OK You have been freeloading on the US for decades for your security. The truth sure hurts as you displayed.

...and in a related story, Jean Chrétien telephoned Bob and Charlene Dinwiddy of South Hedgehog Falls, ID, to inform them that he also refuses to participate in their bridge night next Thursday.

This is an outrage. I HATE THAT BARSTARD!
However, I think the two faced frog is just saying that for public consumption, so as not to upset his immigrant voters.
He says all this while we've got 2 more ships heading to the gulf. I've also heard rumours about one of our regiments, and our snipers already having hooked up with American troops in the Gulf, and that they'll be joining you. Apparently, a major in the regiment that is going has offered his boys (the snipers) 20 bucks for every Iraqi they shoot in the arse. This is just the gossip that's going on up here, but if it's not the case, let me be the first Canadian to apologise for this son of a bitch. It's our duty to stick with the U.S. and Britain, and we've betrayed you if we don't go in.

Naah! If Canada was attacked in the tradition of his Frog DNA, he would surrender all of Canada to whomever attacked. Good. I'm now verbally attacking Canada: The Canadian border should be slammed shut as tight as a drum, and their shipping should be blockaded. This should go on until they and their various terrorist guests from "palestine" and elsewhere are eating the bark off of twigs.
Now they can surrender to me. I demand only the extradition of certain traitors and nazis from the Toronto area :)).

"PM says Canada will not fight in Iraq"So they're not going to send their 8 soldiers and a case of Labatts. I think we can get along without 'em, eh?
To: areafiftyone
Chrétien saying Canada will not participate in Iraq is about as 'breaking' as Jaques or Villien saying Fance will veto another resolution.

I have a stange feeling that within the next two days things are going to turn around! Look at the headlines for Turkey now! I think this is just grandstanding like you say. What Bush needed to do to light a fire under their butts!

Then if you are as observant as you indicate......realize that many of us don't like this "truth", and that there is plenty of spirit left.....that the Liberals have yet to smother.
To: FreeCanuckistan
Actually, it's LESS than that, and that's not just grunts, but fly-boys and seaweeds too. In 1938, Canada had more men under arms in the land forces alone, than our TOTAL armed forces combined today.
It's disgraceful.

Maybe we should tell them it's a hockey game. Wouldn't matter. All their good players are Russian anyway, and they're also being candyasses about Iraq.

I'm a transplanted Canadian living in the US. There is anti-American sentiment ALL OVER Canada. Not just from this incident, but for quite some time now. I have been pro-US all my life, and was quite tired of hearing all the self-righteous and "moral" opinions on Americans. Canada is a country that has been riding the proverbial fence. The reason why they have never been a target of terrorism is because no one knows who they are. They never take a stand on anything except hockey and medicinal marijuana. Sometimes both at once.
You don't need Canada anyway, trust me. They'll brag about how their beer is better. That's all they have to brag about.
