Hey.. WAIT a second!! I'm 100 percent behind these rallies.. but I won't sit back when I see that happening to the flag.
I REPEAT, in NO WAY did I feel it was intentional, but simply informed people of the proper etiqette for the Flag. The only time it is "draped" over anything, is when it is draped over the bodies of our fallen hero's. For that reason alone, I won't sit back and watch people deface it. Got it?

See my response 61. It isn't NIT picky to DIE for this country. The Flag represents many things,... and perhaps a little history lesson would serve you well?
I don't apologize in any way shape of form, for pointing that out.

Just watched the video provided in this thread. I sure wish the major networks would show rallies like this one. Great job!!! Any head counts yet?

"The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors; they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men." Samuel Adams

It is so great to see yours and our pics up (Atlanta)! It shows how many more people in our country support our President, our troops and our country! Way to go!

According to cop I talked to at rally, about 8,000 - 10,000. Plus another 3,000 left stranded at the parking lot at 1:50 when they announced the rally space was full and no more would be bussed. Plus who knows how many gave up and left when they saw the length of the line for the busses.Oh that is SO COOL!!! I wish I could have been there! Way to go! The sleeping majority is, maybe, waking up? YES!!

Well, we made it to the parking lot but not to the rally itself. By the time we got a space and got in line, there were about 2,000 people in front of us. By the time they called things at 1:50, there were an additional 500 or so behind us and more still arriving. It was ashame that transportation wasn't better organized!
That said, the 2,000 or so people who stuck around after 2:00 had their own little impromptu rally, singing "God Bless America," "America the Beautiful," and such. I didn't get to stay too long, but took the following pictures of the 'parking lot rally'. Sorry about the low-resolution. Enjoy!

The "Rally for America" - held on a field near Valley Forge National Historical Park - was the latest in a series of pro-troop rallies organized by syndicated radio host Glenn Beck. Police said this one attracted about 6,000 people, many of them waving flags and holding signs. http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/news/local/5408145.htm
Yay!!!! But since it's the Inquirer, DOUBLE IT!!!

See my response 61. It isn't NIT picky to DIE for this country. The Flag represents many things,... and perhaps a little history lesson would serve you well? What exactly is eating you?
Nobody said it is nit picky to die for this country...far from it....
The fact is these were people rallying in SUPPORT of our country and the TROOPS who defend it.
The idea that all you can see is a violation of some obscure rule of flag etiquette and while missing the big picture so you can poo poo the "Rally for America" thread is kinda sad.
In any case, I repeat; many of those flag rules you posted were just plain nit picky and trivial.
You can't use a flag for "any advertising purpose"?
Can't put it on a napkin or box, or anything that will ever be discarded?
Why does the Post Office put the the flag on stamps? Do they think everybody who recieves mail with a flag stamp must never throw it out?
It's ridiculous.

Your pictures aren't showing up for me - I'm getting the dreaded red X.
Sorry you got stuck in the lot. But an impromptu rally is better than none !!!
It was a great day. We got several minutes of coverage on local Fox in Philadelphia.
The local WB Channel 17, started with the "peace" vigil down on Rittenhouse Square, and then the Pro America rally. Typical. Thousands rally in Valley Forge and they give the peace-niks the opening coverage. AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHHHHH !!!!
