What's that old saying again? Never bring a naif to a bulldozer fight is how I believe it goes.

That surrender and enslavement, and even death, is preferable to fighting for anything.Well, I love freedom too much for that philosophy. I'd rather go down fighting.

They'll be flying flags at the college at half-mast for a month. Rainbow? Palestinian? UN? Soviet?

When you side with terrorists, its a dangerous proposition. Maybe others will learn from her stupidity. The lord works in mysterious ways. The Lord does. And unless your are HIM you are not in any position to instruct us what HIS "mysterious way" is in this case that involves this kids death.
I don't know what HIS plan is in this case but I know one thing. The posts I see here rejoicing the death of this kid make me wonder about some of the people that post on this site. I've been here several years and some of the trash here today have me scratching my head.
As for myself, I'll save my own morbid sense of humor to the death of people like Bin Laden and his kind.

BTW, there is nothing funny about this. It's pretty sickening to see posters here laughing and cheering this woman getting killed. I really don't understand it. If she had been making a bomb and it went off prematurely, then yeah, she got what she deserved. If she was riding in a car with a Hamas leader and it was hit by an IDF missile, she got what she deserved. Otherwise, this is just a sad waste of a life.

After running her over, Smith said, the bulldozer backed away to a distance of about half a kilometer away. It had completely run over her and then it reversed and ran back over her," he said.
C'mon, people, at least get your lies straight!

"BAD, BAD BULLDOZER RUNS AMUCK!"Just like the bad, bad SUV's and the bad hand guns and the bad multi-national corporations and the bad productive humans ruining the envionment filled with evil greed!
Tell me please. Which is the uglier American? The traditional, arrogant capitalist American, or the arrogant, guilt ridden liberally indoctrinated terrorist supporting American?
Just being an "American" isn't enough, especially since 9-11. Those truly innocent people hitting the roof of the lobby of the WTC dwarfed incidents like these IMHO!!!

I agree completely. It also would come as no surprize to me that the IDF's policy of "Shoot first, ask quesitons later" contributes to the very problem they are attempting to control. If I saw the government bulldoze the homes of my neighbors and thought they were coming after mine next, I'd be a terrorist too.

They have narrow view of human nature and are practically psychotic in their belief that if you refuse to fight, war will end. That surrender and enslavement, and even death, is preferable to fighting for anything."War is an ugly thing, but it is not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares about more than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made so by the exertions of better men than himself." -- John Stuart Mill

They will blaming Bush for killing her personally. They'll probably burn Bush in effigy (again, for the thousandth time) and use the whole event to do a Mondale type anti-American rah-rah service. It'll get really, really thick.
I've gotta move.

Welcome to the new and bloodthirsty Free Republic! I guess the old freeper respect for life and skepticism about power (as expressed on issues such as Waco) have gone down the Freeper Orwellian memory whole for good. Gallows humor is what it is. It happens. No sense getting one's knickers in a twist.
The humor comes from the pity for choosing such a stupid and wrongheaded way to die. These are people who would jump in front a sniper's bullet headed for Bin Laden, because they think it would be better to get him to speak on their campus at commencement.

The only thing they risk violence for is the destruction of "capitalist America" -- they were heavily involved in the WTO riots in Seattle (they were a main planning location for the anarchist violence at that event).

Well, I usually ride the high horse too, but I do this this woman as equivalent to someone blowing himself up making a bomb. She put herself in front of a moving bulldozer expecting it to stop. It was a gamble with a risk.

Interesting. I found my way over to an anarcho-syndicalist site yesterday (just research!) and found myself in a place that is utterly foreign to me and my way of thinking. Their stance on war is that it is simply a method for the state to expand its power. There was a lot of stuff there, and I didn't spend a lot of time at the site. I had to go take a shower after being there for a few minutes...

As for myself, I'll save my own morbid sense of humor to the death of people like Bin Laden and his kind. To some people, she will be viewed as an enabler of people like Bin Laden and Arafat. She made the decision to interfer in another nation's self preservation against terroism. I was taking it easy on her in my previous post. But if you want to defend her, go ahead my friend.
If she got in the way of our troops in the ME, would you defend her actions? If she got in the way of law enforcement making an arrest, would you defend her actions? She had no business being there, and she knew it. She took the risk, and paid with her life. People make these decisions all the time, usually criminals. Life is nothing but a bunch of decisions and actions that have rewards and consequences. Do I feel sorry for her - not one bit. Do I feel sorry for the dozer operator - you bet. He's gonna have to live with her death, and all he was doing was serving his country.
Bottom line - she was an idiot and had no business being there in the first place.
