Alot of these American peace protesters probably take for granted the peace and safety of their own country. Despite our problems, its a lot nicer here than most places.

How much "smarts" does it take to know ahead of time that being a HUMAN SHIELD is a dangerous endeavor.

Shields are usually made of hard, metal material; humans have thin skin. Humans DO NOT MAKE good shields. Duh!

I agree. I'm shocked at some of the posts I have been reading lately. The absolute anger and hatred of those who disagree has become overwhelming. The mob mentality has taken charge.

Normally, the IDF arrests these people and they end up
deported. Where were the footsoldiers?

I would be surprised to learn that the run-over was
deliberate, just because of the negative PR. Killing
someone not known to be in structure, or who is armed
and refuses to emerge is one thing. This is something
else entirely.

In any case, it might be a "Kent State Moment" for
for the human shield movement.

I'm sad she will never have the opportunity to learn from her mistakes of youth. I would prefer we win by changing minds rather then by seeing them eliminated.

It's not really that...for these people pacifism is a religion. They follow Gandhi's precepts: that if you simply refuse to engage in war, no matter what, then peace must rule the day and you can find "other ways" to solve your differences.

They have narrow view of human nature and are practically psychotic in their belief that if you refuse to fight, war will end. That surrender and enslavement, and even death, is preferable to fighting for anything.

So what does she earn? A 3-paragraph obit in a Washington state paper? Perhaps 100 people at the funeral. And thats about it. Pretty much sums up the contribution she made in life. To give so much....for nothing...and to get so little in return.

Oh, Lord no. Our local newspaper will have huge headlines and bleeding heart stories about her for days. She'll get more coverage than the liberation of Iraq (which our newspaper opposes). They'll be flying flags at the college at half-mast for a month. There'll be no end of this locally.
