Top of the hour (1:00 pm EST 3/15/03) ABC Radio News is reporting that U.S. Troops in the Persian Gulf have been given the go date for hostilities against Iraq to start. It is reported that ground and air troops are to go to war at the same time. The ABC source said that G-day (Go Day) has been communicated to all allied troops in the area.
I'm searching news wires for more confirmation......

Powdered coffee lightener, no doubt. That was the joke going around. Apparently, a stewardess pulled open a drawer in the galley and a bunch of white dusty powder flew out on her. We didn't know this until later. We were sitting on the plane for quite a while then I looked out the window and saw security and a firetruck pull up behind the plane. A bunch of officials climbed up the stairs to the cockpit and after a while we were told to leave the plane. They said we would be contacted later if necessary.

Please grow up, stop complaining and worrying about being "inconvenienced" and act like an adult AND an American. America has been and is at war with people who want us all dead. This is reality so deal with it. P.S. If youre that concerned about flying... stay home and hide in your basement or take the bus or a boat. What an idiot. What does "act like an adult AND an American" have to do with any of what I said? Would you have preferred that I freak out, grab my wife and daughter, and run off the plane while popping antibiotics??? No, we had a perfectly good airliner and it was ready to go. In fact, I consider it more "American" to not let the terrorists scare us into being afraid of our own shadows. IT WAS FREAKING DUST! FLY THE PLANE!

I think your comment was fair in that you shared your belief that fear of terrorism caused more disruption than actual terrorism. On the other hand, it seems to me there was a time when everyone on Free Republic was not so GD sure of their own pet opinion on everything. I think I've gotten older and the Free Republic crowd has gotten younger and cockier. But hey, I could be wrong.

Somehow, I don't see Britain risking thousands of casualties in such a move. They only have a 120,000-man Army, after all. But I'm sure they'll be in the thick of things, when the time comes.

"highly unlikely"
I agree - The President would never give that date without being at home - and without telling America first!
