"We wanted them to see some blood," said Apel, a member of Guadalupe Catholic Worker, a social reform movement. "We wanted them to in some way visually experience the consequences of what they're doing." Oh yeah, we're in the presence of Mensa material here folks.

A Guadalupe man jumped onto the base's entrance sign Friday and sprayed it with 4 ounces of his own blood in a symbolic gesture of his anti-war stance. Dennis Apel, 52, later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of trespassing and vandalism. He will be sentenced next month in a Santa Barbara federal court and faces a possible jail sentence or fine.A misdemeanor? A *possible* jail sentence or fine? That's IT? Heck, blood could be considered a biological weapon.
They should treat these people like any other terrorist.

Deadly force should be used against those involved in any illegal invasion of any military base.

Right. Just like it didn't deter all those brave "human shields" in Iraq. Once the shooting starts, anyone who tries to disrupt the U.S. war effort by trespassing or vandalizing U.S. military property should be considered an insurrectionist and shot.

"Deadly force." I hope it's used. These idiots have no business trying to interfere with operations. A few less wacko's doesn't bother me none.

It's good to see this war is to be fought at home as well as abroad. One of the most important issues is to know where terrorists are peace protesters journalists, ACLU, and of course the biggest terrorist organization of all the DNC.

Some anti-war activists plan to trespass onto base grounds in hopes of disturbing Vandenberg's mission and to vandalize sensitive equipment they contend helps guide the war effort. How is this NOT treason? Shoot to kill, and let the public know that this crap will NOT be tolerated. Our troops don't need their countrymen sabotaging their missions, and jeopardizind thier lives. Where do these idiots come from???

About damned time! Now if local police departments could just do the same - if they're blocking municipal functions or destroying public property.

Years ago, a tv crew climbed the fence at the Concord Naval Weapons Station. They were there to "investigate" whether the Navy stored nuke weapons at the the base.
The cameraman refused to turn his video camera off after a member of the Marine security detail advised him to do so.
The cameraman's trip to the ground and his subsequent screams were caught on tape as the Marines tossed him to the ground and handcuffed him.
