In Houston, listener-sponsored Pacifica radio station KPFT (90.1 FM), said it would play the Dixie Chicks now more than ever.

"I just heard about it an hour ago from a caller who said there is some kind of boycott against the Dixie Chicks," said Wendy Schroell, KPFT administrative assistant. "That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. We are going to be playing them all the time.

The democratic party attemnpted a hostile take-over of Pacifica, with Mary Frances Berry leading the charge. Her race-baiting techniques were somewhat effective on the lefties. But a suit was launched by listeners for fraud, and they booted her and her whole gang.

It is interesting that in the midst of the fracas, a major escalation occured when Bill Clinton called their New York City station, to plug Al Gore.

They put Amy Goodman on the line, and she absolutly raked him over the coals, She just kept baiting him, and he kept falling for it, she turned his thirty second plug in to a twenty minute grilling. Finally he lost his temoper and started yelling at her, it was hysterical. This caused her to be ousted.

Shortly afterward, the managements were all ousted.

Pacifica is supposed to be Free Speech but turned left during the late 60's, early 70's.

William F Buckly did his first program at Pacifica, and Caspar Weinburger also had a weekly program.

There is still some non-lefty programming around the network, but it is mostly tree-hugging, commie, feminist, gay, etc.

There are a few exceptions.

Mike Levine is a right-winger, ex-DEA agent (most highly decorated to date). He turned whistleblower against corruption and inter-agency drug-dealing.

He is on the air at WBAI, a program called "expert witness".

But most of the political discussion at Pacifica Stations are as anti-bush as they were anti-clinton. Mostly it's an "all politicians are scum" editorial policy.

Pacifica created the listener sponsor model, upon which all the Public Radio and TV stations are based. All Pacifica stations are prohibitted from any advertising or underwriting.

They get 15% of their funding from the CPB, and the rest is individual donors, i.e. listener-sponsors.

The Pacifica radio network is been guilty of treason against US for many years. They would like the Iraqis, Chinese and other enemies of the state to destroy us.
