Rally for America - Chicagoland Chapter Style

Today, March 14, 2003, the Chicagoland Chapter, a member of the Free Republic Network, announces a Rally for America to be held on March 22, 2003 from 11:30 am to 2 pm in Federal Plaza, Chicago, IL (Map 1 and Map 2). The rally will consist of speakers, flag waving Patriots, and pro-Americanism. We will support our troops, display our support for America's anti-terrorism efforts, and best of all - enjoy each others company.
We have a committment from Kevin McCullough from WYLL 1160 AM radio in Chicago. Other noted speakers will be released soon.
We will be extending invitations to many organizations in the Chicago area. If you have a contact in an organization that would like to join us, please send them a link to this thread.
Official News Releases will be sent to all Chicago area news organizations.

ANYONE have the jpg of that SIGN that says: Except for defeating nazism, communism, fascim WAR ISNT GOOD FOR ANYTHING!!
Anyone have that thanks. I forgot to save that. Thats a classic. I may remake that sign for Sat.

Congratulations! Hegewisch Dupa invited me to join you, but I had to return home from Chicago yesterday.
I hope somebody will photograph the event and share it online, much like this.
(And please, when you post photos, keep them down to a few kbytes -- crop them, compress them. A lot of us have slow access; mine reaches 26kbps on a good day. Post a bunch of unpreprocessed multi-megabyte photos as some have done, a number of us, myself included, aren't going to hang around the half-hour or more it takes to load.)

LET'S ROLL ...
BUMP-A-RONI I'll try to be there by 10:30-11:00, depending on what time I can get the sound system. I've got to pick it up in Streamwood, about 10-15 miles west of me. Hopefully I'll be able to grab it Friday night so I can head straight downtown Saturday morning.
I'm still going to try to get a work-around on the stage, we really need one if we're going to get decent speakers. I'm going to call my insurance agent Monday AM and see if he can issue a special rider to my liability umbrella or homeowners that would satisfy the feds. Or, are the feds goping to have anyone on site to even know whether we get a small platform or not ... food for thought.
Billyboy, I'm counting on you to help set up and operate sound system -- right??

I was thinking we could just build a small "soap box" if necessary. If someone doesn't already have something by Thursday, I will build a 3.5'd x 4'w x 12"h "soap box" Friday night. I can fit that in my truck without issue.
