SALT LAKE CITY, March 13 Elizabeth Smart was home Thursday, playing the harp and watching her favorite movie, The Trouble with Angels, the day after she was rescued from a terrifying ordeal that lasted nine months. Police and FBI
sources told NBC News that on the night she was abducted from her bedroom in June, Elizabeth was married in a bizarre religious ceremony to the drifter with whom she was
found Wednesday.

Question: If married, what does that do to the kidnapping conviction??? I don't know what is going on.

Okay, you're forgiven. ;-)
That is major league creepy. Murder is easier to understand than this depravity.

It's a very extended family ordeal.

What the hell was going on there, that a drifter that looks like Charles Manson can live in a teepee in the desert and wander the streets panhandling with two women in veils and headscarves -- and nobody investigates? Especially with a young teen girl in tow?

"Murder is easier to understand than this depravity."
I'm sure that concept is crossing Mr. Samrt's mind quite frequently of late.

Looks like a FBI agent would know enough about the law to know that a minor can't enter into a legal contract, and that a abductee doens't have the freedom to make a choice.
His use of the word "marriage" "mainstreams" the criminal act committed by the kidnapper. He should have said "Elizabeth became her captors slave",not his wife.
