They have been bucking the administration all during this thing with the Pali's. Personally I think Sharon cares more about protecting Israel than he does about toeing the Washington line.

We asked them not to retaliate the last time and we gave them the missiles to intercept incoming missiles. I do not believe there is such an agreement this time.

Last time, we bribed them to not retaliate, and sent a bunch of British SAS into the western Iraqi desert on Scud hunts (among other books, I recommend Andy McNabb's "Bravo Two Zero".
