FoxNews Alert just reported that Iraqi troops have left Baghdad with heavy artillary and are heading south to the Kuwaiti boarder. More troops with SCUD missle launchers are heading west. The thought is that Saddam is about to attack our troops.
This is breaking news and details are few and far between.

"GPS jammers Iraq bought"
Saw a 2-star general,(USMC, I think) earlier. He said that if these guys think mail-order GPS jammers will help them, they are even dumber than he thought. LOL!

What do you think the UN would have done if it had been their buildings that had been hit instead of the WTCs? Do you think they would have gotten off the dime then or blamed the United States for not protecting them?

Think about it.. possiblity a pre-emptive chemical attack on our troops.. kill 30,000 in the first few minutes of any war.. drop some chemicals into Israel.. nukes going off all over Iraq.. he wants to bring this to the mother of all battles.. and ingite a war the likes we never seen before.

don't know why they're moving west, unless they think we're going to do another left hook. Looking at a map of Iraq, even if we did a "left hook", a westward deployment of troops would be a foolish defense against the US. The original hook, as well as virtually all of the oil and political/military targets in Saudi Arabia, are southeast of Baghdad.

Actually, a pre-emptive strike by Iraq might be a gift to the US. It would be. My thought was that Sadaam might be trying to force a tactical strike on the part of the US, ahead of an invasion, which I'd sure would earn him some brownie points in the UN. Worst case, if we don't act, he achieves troop movements which won't be possible under fire. IMO, deploying the scuds, if that's what he's doing, is particularly important, since he'll have a very limited window to move them once a full scale attack begins.
Given the diplomatic risks, we're losing there anyway, I think we should disrupt his movements. Assuming GWB is going to attack regardless of the UN, the long term judgement of his actions will be determined by what we find once we're there, and how successful we might be at "regieme change". Allowing tactical movements like this, if we're going ahead anyway, can only cost American lives.

Perhaps Iraq is simply chasing some of our intelligence teams. They may have picked up a few key pieces of evidence this morning when the inspectors became accident prone. Just about anything might be going on.

Remember how that Iraqi plane going into Saudi airspace all of a sudden got the Saudi's off the dime -- we have quite a few soldiers stationed at a Saudi base near the border with Iraq and my understanding that our planes are ready!
Note how Saudi has been very quiet in all of this. Believe we already have the agreements in place to once again use Saudi to launch.

kill 30,000 in the first few minutes Only a nuke would do that, and only in a city. A [un]lucky hit by a Scud like the one in the Gulf War would result in casualties, but not nearly that many.
