A woman unknowingly snapped a picture of the three here in Lakeside California. She just thought it looked so odd to see this here. She called the Rick Roberts Radio show and they contacted Utah police. Also, it seems that Emmanual spent some time in our El Cajon jail for vandizing a church. Here's the picture:

They weren't exactly staying at the Del Coronado or in La Jolla, were they?

I just now heard Ed Smart say that he asked Elizabeth if she saw any of the big billboards with her picture and she said no. They were hiding in the mountains. Sounds like when he returned a few days ago, he didn't expect her picture to be plastered everywhere. That's why they probably were running again.

You know I do not agree with most of your posts. But the cops REALLY did screwed this up. She was in hills about 3 miles behind her house until August, nobody took the the CHAD guy sighting seriously. It had to be Mitchell he saw... to top it off they did find 3 sets of tracks behind the house. The cops focused too much on Ricci and Edmunds.

I do want to add that I think he held her behind the house in the hills as part of a way to control her. Maybe he told her if she tried to escape he would make it to her family before she did. Also she may have been blindfolded and did not know at the time she was 3 miles behind her house. Maybe she was scared if she ran that she would run in the wrong direction. It may have took them 3 months in the hills to brainwash her and after they took her out of SLC maybe she was too far gone and out of reality.

My first thought is that these three walking around in what
looks like Taliban gear couldn't have been stupider in knowing what would and wouldn't draw attention to themselves. But given our still-low appetite for "racial profiling" the burkas and robes probably provided a perfect
"cover". Still, there's something even beyond naive about the Smart parents' proclivity to hire not one but two career criminals/psychos to do work around their house, and , from what I've heard also provide them with keys to their house. Supposedly Mitchell only worked there a part of one single day, and got a key. He had to have entered through a main door: the small window where the screen was cut looked too narrow and high up for even Elizabeth to have gotten through. There's a lot of speculation that Mitchell was somehow hired by the Smarts to stage a fake kidnapping in order to get the pregnant Elizabeth out of town for a protracted period so that she could have the baby
far away from Mormon Utah. Seems highly unlikely that Mitchell would still stick around with her in tow if that's the scenario. But the truth will probably prove to be even more bizarre if it's ever revealed.

Two words: STOCKHOLM SYNDROME. It's documented, and has occurred in many such kidnappings.

Also bear in mind: the child was only 14 or 15 when she was kidnapped, well below the age of consent. Even if she "ran away," legally, she didn't, because she wasn't old enough to make those kinds of decisions.

Like everybody else, I suppose, I'm glad the kid's safe, but I have to wonder: What is it about this case that so grabs national attention? Is the Smart family real prominent, or something? I'm sure this would make good fodder for the National Enquirer, et al, but FOX News?? What have I missed?

Also, it's known that he and his wife used drugs. If the wee one was drugged, it would be easier to keep her under his thumb--and to brainwash her.

there are four hospitals within a mile or so of the press conference. the u of u medical center is a huge hospital with two of their own helos, primary childrens has usually one as does LDS hospital. they fly pretty incessantly in that part of the valley. i imagine there are no more than two news choppers in the air, if that.

The Senator of Utah just said that he had a knife to her throat most of the time she was behind the house in the hills. How awful. She must have been so scared, that poor little girl.
