From the Dixie Chicks with respect to statements being reported in the British media
Dixie Chicks Official Website ^ | March 12, 2003 | Dixie Chicks

From the Dixie Chicks

"We've been overseas for several weeks and have been reading and following the news accounts of our governments' position. The anti-American sentiment that has unfolded here is astounding. While we support our troops, there is nothing more frightening than the notion of going to war with Iraq and the prospect of all the innocent lives that will be lost."

Maines further stated, "I feel the President is ignoring the opinions of many in the U.S. and alienating the rest of the world. My comments were made in frustration and one of the privileges of being an American is you are free to voice your own point of view."

The song that started them on their way,
was about two lesbians who killed one
of their husbands and lived happily ever
after!

Looks like I'm no longer buying Lipton products either. Luzianne Tea is just fine with me.

one of the privileges of being an American is you are free to voice your own point of view.

That's right. When is your next concert in United States?

Just as we are free to no longer be fans. I think I'll sell my used Dixie Chicks CD's on Amazon. That way I'll get a little money back and deprive them of a little income at the same time.

Sorry, but that song did not start their career, and it wasn't about lesbians.

But otherwise, the wife-beating husband did die, so you got that part right.

Doesn't matter though, 'cause all of their CDs are in the trash!

Any person in a retail customer driven business that deliberately sets out to pick an argument with, and then insult, half of their potential market is either a fool or a megomaniac. With the Chicks, I suspect that it's a combination of the two.

Yep, she's free to voice her point of view and we're free not to buy her music or attend any of her concerts.

Freedom works both ways and it looks like this dumb broad forgot about that.
