The teachers call CIM/CAM "shim/sham", but I think it's all "flim/flam".

Bump. I think the author was too generous. Oregon's education system is run for the benefit of the system only, not the students.

This is a brilliant piece of work, by a parent and local school administrator who wanted to answer a common and simple question. Are the state school administrators in Oregon lying to the citizens about the "good benefits" from a multi-million dollar testing program? Are they claiming better results, when in fact the results continue to drop?

The best use for this fine work would be for him to put it in the hands of a handful of state leguslators who are both able to understand statistical analysis, and who are not supported by the teachers unions, so they would have an incentive to continue and cover up the lies. Then, those legislators should get the school administrators before them, in a hearing under oath, and grill them about these results.

Thanks for the ping! Bump for a fine article from Oregon's best publication.

The State of Oregon has already ruined a generation of students. This is why my grandchildren will never set foot in a public school...except for sports, of course.;o)

Our kids are graduating high school illiterate because of the dumbing down.

The schools waste too much time and too much money on things that will not help the kids one iota in the real world.

I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I am WAY MORE intelligent quitting school 25 years ago then our A+ graduates are today.

A lot of people want to shut down Franklin School, because it is very academic, with no politically correct B.S.
