Removing Saddam Hussein from power and eliminating his weapons of mass destruction is an important step in ensuring the safety and security of Americans and of freedom loving people everywhere. Doing this will also liberate Iraq from Saddam’s murderous regime.

According to a recent CBS News poll, 69% of Americans support the use of military action to remove Saddam. However, President Bush has been impeded in accomplishing this by the actions of a small number of activists who have used a sympathetic media to project an image of widespread opposition. Although some participants are sincere if misguided pacifists, their demonstrations have been organized and funded by international leftist groups who are militant in their hatred of America, free-market capitalism and the conservative values on which our country was founded. Their goal is to undermine the authority and effectiveness of the President and his Administration.

Their actions have weakened the resolve of our country, distracted members of our military as they prepare for war, and encouraged a vicious enemy dictator to believe that Americans lack the courage to end his evil schemes.

We need to demonstrate to our fellow citizens, our soldiers, our nation and the world that:

1) we support our troops,
2) we stand in opposition to terrorism and terrorists, and
3) we endorse swift military action in Iraq and the liberation of the Iraqi people.

Over the years, Free Republic has grown into a major force for conservatism and positive change. We have organized and participated in thousands of rallies across this country. Now it is time to join forces with other conservative organizations, combining our efforts to stage a major national event that will make our voices heard not only in America, but around the world. The Free Republic Network has joined with Young Americans for Freedom as national sponsors for this event, in addition to several other large national conservative organizations who will be coming on board early next week. In addition, we expect participation as co-sponsors or endorsers from several hundred other conservative groups who will be contacted in the next few days.

This will be the first time Free Republic has networked with multiple national conservative partners on a national drive and we will be coordinating our efforts and media plan for maximum benefit and return. During the election crisis of 2000, FR organized and participated in demonstrations in over 200 cities. Let's show America and the world what Free Republic is about, and make it our goal to double that benchmark by committing ourselves to a Rally for America in 400 cities and towns!

Here's how you can help:

1. If you are a member of a Free Republic Chapter, help plan a rally for the weekend of March 22-23. If you are not in a Chapter, start one. It doesn't matter if there are 5 or 500 at your location. The country, the world, and most important, our troops will hear your voices. Once you've made your plans, post your rally information at www.freeper.org.

2. Tell your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers and ask them to attend. Call your local newspapers, TV and radio stations and ask them to promote the event. Ask your Church to support the event. Call local organizations like the VFW, AMvets, Kiwanis and Lions Club and ask them to inform their members. Post flyers around your area.

Complete information about the Rally for America, event locations, and how to organize a rally in your area, complete with tools, resources and communication assistance can be found at "Rally for America" central;

Richmond is about two hours away (VA Beach) it's reachable.

There was some talk on the radio last week about maybe buses coming in from around the state. You should be able to pick up WRVA 1140 down there during daylight hours, probably something will be on their website soon too.

10,000???!!! WOW!

Take the plunge and start our own Virginia thread now that we have the details. The Richmond event will get more exposure that way!

[M]oving over to St.John's Church on Richmond's Church Hill to Celebrate the Reenactment of Patrick Henry's "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death!!" speech!! Mud, I'm thinking if we're hosting a booth, we're not going to have time to get to Church Hill. Remember, the seating is first come, first served. I'd rather postpone the St. John's Church reenactment til summer when it's performed weekly. That way we're free to fully enjoy the Rally. What say you?

Hi, and thanks for the ping...

Guess what ! You don't have to choose between hearing Patrick Henry or having a booth at Rally for America...

WRVA contacted my husband today. He's going to be there at the rally for America- as Patrick Henry! His version of the LorD speech is the best I've ever heard. You can hear it at the rally!

This means another local actor will be doing the re-enactment up at the church that day. So, of course I think you should postpone that till the summer (not that I would have any personal bias, now) :)

Really??? This is tooo much! We're definitely waiting til summer now! We should all go to the Tobacco Company afterwards though for some refreshments!

Hannity is talking about big news for DC that he can't announce yet. Could it be he's coming to DC for a rally, too? Maybe your husband could do a Hannity rally and get on Fox News!! Share the wealth with all America!

Thank you for the notification, Ligeia. I will mobilize the Blennos brigade. We will be there.

Are Freepers going to wear any identification? Do we have buttons or emblems. We need them. Blennos

Great! Yes, we'll need to decide the best way to handle that. Mud's speaking of a booth, but I'm not yet sure what exactly he has in mind. Stay tuned!

A booth would be great!! No telling how many new Freepers could be enlisted. I think buttons would be a great thing to pass out. People keep will them for souveniers, I wouldn't trade my Sore/Loserman from the DC Chapter's Thanksgiving 2000 Naval Observatory Freep for anything. With www.Freerepublic.com on them sooner or later FreeRepublic will get a hit.

Anybody know anything about costs and where to purchase them?

"What say you?"

I'm flex, but I've already begun tellin' folks about the Patrick Henry Reenactment and I'd still like to hit somewheres fer an early dinner afterwards...and by the sound of today's announcement on WRVA, it looks like they might be piggy-backin' the Reenactment and Richmond's Rally FER America!!

Wouldn't be surprised to see the Reenactors give a performance at the Innsbrook Pavilion!!

But that's just a rumor I'm startin'...LOL!!

Gonna be sumthin' to tell the grandkids about, I reckon...MUD

I'd be interested in finding out about buttons too.

If anyone is interested in inexpensive American Flag temporary tattoos to give out at their rally FReep mail me and I'll send you the details.

NO WAY Mud...we're hosting our own shin-dig here at the Capital grounds on the 22nd. From the looks of how things are shaping up so far this could be HUGE. We have Congressman Billybob speaking and he will draw a big crowd since he's been on the local talk radio station here every Monday for the past 10 weeks.

Thanks for the offer though, you are welcome to drive down here though ; )

Ain't it fun?

I thought you might get a kick out of this one!!

Subject: Military Rules for the Non-Military Personnel

Dear Civilians,

We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation have many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas we would like your assistance with:

The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem ... kick their ass.

When you witness firsthand someone burning the American Flag in protest... kick their ass.

Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these Veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these Veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a Disabled Veteran kicks their ass.

(GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDU's), telling others that you used to be "Special Forces," and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay if you were still seven. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.

Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, "Do you fly a jet?" Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass kicking (children are exempt).

If you witness someone calling the U.S. Coast Guard non military, inform them of their mistake...and kick their ass.

Roseanne Barr's singing of the National Anthem is not a blooper...it was a disgrace and disrespectful. Laugh, and sooner or later your ass will be kicked.

Next time Old Glory (U.S. flag) prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her...of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass kicking.

What Jane Fonda did during the Vietnam War makes her the enemy. The proper word to describe her is "traitor." Just mention her nomination for "Woman of the Year" and get your ass kicked.

Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran. We are Americans and we all bleed the same regardless of our party affiliation. Our Chain of Command, is to include our commander in Chief. The President (for those who didn't know) is our CIC regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those representatives" meet. All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. The military member might direct you to Oliver North. (I can see him kicking your ass already.)

"Your mama wears combat boots" never made sense to me ... stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and probably kick your ass!

Bin Laden and the Taliban are not communists, so stop saying "Let's go kill those Commie's!!!" And stop asking us where he is!!!! Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me ... if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers; let me know, so I can go kick their ass.

Flyboy (Air Force), Jar Head (Marines), Grunt (Army), Squid (Navy) etc, are terms of endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. Could get your ass kicked.

Last but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends please remember that there are, literally, thousands of sailors and troops far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get its ass kicked.
