Good analysis. You forgot Ashcroft and his bs campaigns. I like GWB. He's a Texan for the most part and all that, but the power centers east and west are conspiring to keep the economy crapped on as well as the dems who will block legis to stop a recovery from happening. Couple this with what you stated about the war effort and you have the presciption for a one termer.

The UN is wearing a blue dress for him, are you kidding. Clinton would get the nod in a heartbeat.

good thing ole Bill is a terrible war criminal, what with his bombing asprin factories in Bosnia, civilian casualties in Somolia, etc etc...
I'll tell you what though, I'd support anyone who shielded him from prosecution in the International Criminal Court, only because the rest of us would certainly lose sovereignty in that mess. I would however fully support anyone who wants to try, convict, and hang that murdering, treasonous bastard for the murders occuring at Waco and the use of internationally illegal poison gas against American citizens.
Bill and Hillary Clinton are like the sick joke that never ever ends

If you check out the fine print on the UN Charter you should see that no citizen of a permanent member of the Security Council can be a Secretary General. Expet for one thing: The rules, or resolutions for that matter, of the UN aren't worth, well, the paper they're written on.

First, the U.S. drops out of the UN. Then, they witdraw all financial support from it. At that time, the UN is forced to leave the U.S. or shut down entirely, either one of which is a winner. Bill can be Sec/Gen in whatever country might be willing to have the UN, but it won't be the U.S. (maybe Switzerland, or one of those other socialist, anti-U.S., European countries). However, my guess is that the UN will die a well-deserved death without a New York home and U.S. financial support.

That's a hell of a rant about Bush just because I pointed out a veto can, and has been cast. Now given that the next election for SG is this fall, please explain how there will not be a Republican in office at that time?

How do you figure that the election is this fall? Kofi's term doesn't end until 2006, I believe. Am I wrong?

You are correct in the timing of the next scheduled election, however the entire premise of the posted article is that the SG resigns in the fall of this year.
