Can Iraq Hit America?
Newsweek ^ | March 17, 2003 | Daniel Klaidman and Christopher Dickey

Posted on 03/09/2003 11:47:51 AM PST by Storm Eagle

"...as Washington threatens to bring Saddam’s own reign to an end, U.S. officials are afraid he might use such gruesome tactics against Americans. Outgunned on the traditional battlefield, Saddam is looking to fight back on his own terms. That, according to American officials, could mean any number of terror plots, from isolated assassinations of U.S. citizens overseas to biological or chemical attacks in the American heartland."

Mol, Jayna Davis and others including David Schippers have known about this and yes, reported it--to no avail.

I have heard of some of their reports and I wouldn't dismiss them .. But I will say there have been a few crack pots out there, which maybe be why many take a step back approach to the whole thing

His research was good. He sometimes reached conclusions that even he later admitted were wrong, but I never knew him to make up a fact, even in small things. Because he lives here and knew many of the victims, I suspect his zeal to bring justice sometimes made him seem too emotional--this, I understand, since I live near OKC myself. I keep hoping the truth will finally emerge from all this, too. Storm Eagle's remarks are quite in sync with what we've learned so far.

River Euphrates... I interpret this as a foreshadowing, with the king of the side of justice being Bush. And, yes, I do know that the reference of king also refers to Jesus.

Psalms 72

1 A Psalm of Solomon. Give the king thy justice, O God, and thy
righteousness to the royal son! 2 May he judge thy people with
righteousness, and thy poor with justice! 3 Let the mountains bear
prosperity for the people, and the hills, in righteousness! 4 May he defend
the cause of the poor of the people, give deliverance to the needy, and
crush the oppressor! 5 May he live while the sun endures, and as long as the
moon, throughout all generations! 6 May he be like rain that falls on the
mown grass, like showers that water the earth! 7 In his days may
righteousness flourish, and peace abound, till the moon be no more! 8 May he
have dominion from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth!
9 May his foes bow down before him, and his enemies lick the dust! 10 May
the kings of Tarshish and of the isles render him tribute, may the kings of
Sheba and Seba bring gifts! 11 May all kings fall down before him, all
nations serve him! 12 For he delivers the needy when he calls, the poor and
him who has no helper. 13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves
the lives of the needy. 14 From oppression and violence he redeems their
life; and precious is their blood in his sight.

But take care of issues that are closer to a Constitutional definition of war (North Korea) instead of first involving ourselves in another war on something.

Unlike NK, Iraq doesn't yet have nukes, so we can afford to take Saddam out without fighting a potentially debilitating nuclear war. An invasion of NK right now would probably kill 1 million+ So. Koreans, and there's a possibility that Kim could successfuly fire off an ICMB at the U.S. west coast, killing 100,000+ Americans and turning our economy to dust. Please tell us all your plan for dealing with what is turning out to be the most egregious of Clinton's errors.

There just aren't any good options as far as dealing with NK is concerned right now. Taking out Saddam before he attains their capacities is something we can do with far less risk. In the meantime, perhaps we should rush development of our new ABM technology -- we might be needing it in the not-too-distant future.

I am interested, if you have any other clues from Revelations to share. 9:13 is very good.

I'm not buying. Take your sarcastic schtick to someone who has the time and patience to wrestle in the mud with you. I simply addressed one topic and you want to lecture on and on from a bully pulpit. I'm too old to be bullied and life is too short.

The sad thing is, when I finally waded through your sarcasm, you made some good points that might, under different circumstances, be worthwhile to discuss with you. Some of them I even agree with. But you seem bent on an adversarial discussion that I want no part of. In short, billbears, you might slug yourself through a battle but your aggressive sarcasm loses you the war. A pity, you obviously have a good mind.

Sling some more sarcasm via a reply if you must . . . but I'll provide you no more fodder this night. Have a good night.

It certainly would be easy to do in the Philly or just about any eastcoast metro area. There was some Chester city Doc with a Muslim name who was hauled off and investigated as he had ties to John Hopkins and Microbio stuff. Idon't know if any charges were finally pinned on this guy but he had some ties to the corrupt local government too. Chester *was* the perfect place to hide this sort of danger.

This makes it very clear. When I read Psalms 72, I suddenly felt peaceful. I was feeling up tight after reading some disturbing article.

The King will come. In his own time.

Thank you

Glad I can be of help. The King will come, and since you have already chosen Jesus as your savior, you need not fret too much about the future. Yes, we should all live our lives as good Christians, to the best of our ability. But, so much is out of our hands. We must have faith that in the end, the path will be clear. One day, we will be welcomed home.

Best wishes.

Significantly, at the time the FBI was looking at "Aryan Nations" types as the ones doing the dirty work.

The OKC bombing legacy.

But other investigators (including a little known ultra top-secret special investigative group that probably saved the US then) had reliable information that operations, the existence of which no one in authority at all doubted,

Hmmm... hard to believe that no one in authority doubted.

...was [sic] being financed and co-ordinated by free-lancing intelligence assets from other nations (in this case, the Germans and Russians were referenced, though not the French)with interests in Iraq

Is this an allusion to Straessen who was involved at Elohim City ?

and certain unnamed "rogue" operators with ties to the American government.

rogue members of alphabet agencies ?

Intriguing, but this is a post on a forum. Could be true, could be the basis of a novel.

I don't see that as difficult to understand at all. Moreover, bad news does not improve with age. Whatever the price tag is gonna be for getting rid of the Hussein regime now, the one thing we know for sure is that it will cost us more if we wait.

This was an interesting article in the Mexican newspapers ---they were looking for Iraqis traveling with a Mexican in the northern part of Mexico that were probably headed to the US border. I never saw anything more about it, I don't know if they found them or if they made it over the border.

Sorry it's in Spanish but it's pretty easy to read if you know just a little Spanish.

In mid-September of 2001, I distinctly remember saying to my husband that the people do not GET IT. This is still true today. Too many people want to run from one aspect of the war on terror, to the other, and refuse to try to see the bigger picture. Our media is silent about many of the big issues, running from story to story, and then filling up hours with wild scenarios, ignoring the true facts. I suppose, for many people, ignorance is bliss. However, I would rather try to understand for myself, than to just be pacified by the press, and the government.

And on what do you base that rather wild assertion?

"Dashole already has his speech written, clucking about how Bush brought these attacks on us and how they wouldn't have happened had Bush not taken Iraq. But, of course, they would have, later, perhaps, but certainly at some time."

I saw Tony Snow on FOX today, mentioning that the liberals are being extremely quiet about the UN, and Iraq, and that he had invited them, so they could round out the fair-and-balanced scenario. They decined. He suggested that their silence is because they are preparing their attack pieces, after the war has started. (Or I think, maybe they are hoping that Bush will trump the UN, and then they will attack him for decimating this noble organization.)

Remember the phoney border-patrol SUV? They found an SUV painted up to look like border-patrol, presumably used for the drug trade. This would be a wonderful scenario for the terrorists, also.

I heard Tony Snow asking for liberals to comment, too. I think they're quiet right now because whatever they say on the record is likely to be used against them, and justifiably so. They've already opened their mouths too much.
