Actually I wouldn't deride the surrendering Iraqi soldiers. They are not surrendering, because they are cowards, like the French.
They are surrendering, because they know that the US will liberate them from Saddam, and they hate Saddam more than we do, because they know him. So why should they get killed defending Saddam? And they also know that American victory is assured.
Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that while Saddam is urging his military leaders to fight to the death and use WMD, etc., he himself is running to some tunnel and sneak out of the country with his billions.
I read somewhere that he sent his jewel to buy millions of dollars worth of diamonds.

Praying for your soldier-sons. May God be with them every step of the way.

Considering the U.N. humanitarian "staff" just left the border(after telling everyone about the holes in the fences), perhaps the Iraqi's felt it was now safe to surrender Hell, The UN staff didn't discover the holes, they made them...
EXIT STAGE RIGHT...

Those Iraqis who were foolish enough to engage us in the first war, and survived, went home to tell others what fate their brothers met at the hands of the Americans.
No doubt the Iraqis are much wiser now.

I hope the Iraqis were not sent back. Saddam will kill them. If the Bush admin has half a brain, they would let the press interview the "soldiers" (after interrogations, of course)to further sway public opinion.

"My son should have just touched down there with his group from the 101st. His mother & I are a triffle skittish at the moment."
He must be one terrific son. I am proud of him and I don't even know him. I Just have a feeling. I have another feeling he will be fine.

I hope Geraldo, "The Fake", misses out on the whole thing. Would make my year......!

"My son headed there last week with the 101st just waiting to hear from him. Got his first care package all ready to ship just need an address"
You must have done a good job raising him to be in the 101.

Before the war starts, soldiers have two choices: stay and eat Iraqi food, or surrender and eat UN food. Which would you do?

They may be right according to this article:
('The second Gulf war has already begun')The scale of the special forces incursions, and their relative freedom of movement in Iraqs western and southern desert, indicates that, in practice, a vast area of Iraq has already been taken by allied troops without a shot.

they will not be sent back & you can be assured they have been cleared and assembled, given some food & drink and then eagerly dumping all kinds of information about what their deployments look like from the other side and better insight into how well the psyops are apparently working.

Can somebody in the USA have internet access with someone in Kuwait?
I am not sure who we can talk to via the net around the world and who we can't talk to.
I remember when the net was getting mainstream one of the things advertised was worldwide access.
I know we have a FR members in other countries.
It would be nice to have a FReeper in the Middle East.
