I hope you hear a "repeat" of the show.

The caller was setting Michael Savage up. Caller mentioned being "married" to a Hispanic woman from the "turd world nation" ...and Michael cut him off.

On his radio show, Savage preaches that ALL our borders should be closed.

Now, does that help?

Radio on TV is working every morning. IMUS.

Radio on TV is working on RUSH 24/7.

Give this a chance to settle into another success. How many of us would even have a TV on at this time on a Saturday.

Agree. Rush's TV show was in no way a failure. Because of how TV was structured at the time, he was at the mercy of local programming slot decisions. He ended up at midnight or later in too many markets. He got great numbers considering the time slots.

He also noted near the program's end that some station program directors would not schedule or continue his show despite good ratings and profitability. He cited one instance where a local car dealer said he would buy all time slots for the show, and the PD still refused to continue the program.

Re: Your post #162
I agree---its getting the message out that counts. There is appeal in televised rant personalities...some people can't rant and be heard and find it very gratifying to have others do it for them AND reach an audience.

Yes. I was away from the tv screen at that time, and only listening passively.

Watch out FOX, if MSNBC doesn't weasel out to the Left, it's got a winner in Michael Savage. One hour is a perfect time length, he doesn't need no stinking guests because he can fill the time himself, and he's going to pull bunches of conservatives over to MSNBC for at least his one-hour-a-week. If they give him five days a week, he'll be the Rush Limbaugh of Talk TV. I'd be celebrating except I don't believe MSNBC has the bottom to fight the PC crowd. Be ready with an opening FOX!

But this TV show sucks

Then instead of people saying they aren't going to watch, or they will "tune out", we should be giving Michael some constructive criticism.

Hey, it's a hard call. I just want his message heard.

I got the feeling that he was not in control of the OFF button. He seemed at a loss when it was cut off and had to "fill the air" with a comment...

There was another case of "over talking" that he does not usually allow.

My guess is he is not fully in charge!

With all due respect, Leilani who signed up on 03-03-03--CUT THE CRAP.

"So much for intellectual integrity" shows how little you know, or care to know, about Savage. His core beliefs can be summed up as "Borders, Language, Culture," and he's steadfastly true to those beliefs--unlike, say, a certain former president who had to take a poll to decide where to go on vacation.

Depending on where he is emotionally, he might react differently at different times. Welcome to the human race.

Big oops--deepest apologies for misreading the sign-up date. Doesn't change the fact that you're way off on Savage.

I'm sure all here have heard of the "Peter Principle". Need I say more?

The show was pretty watered down compared to his radio program. He would look like a nut case if he went off on television like he does on radio.

The show needs his radio call screener, a better set and a guess segment. He also needs to take a seat, he looks too shifty standing up and bouncing around

Overall, not terrible for a first show, but it could definately be better.

(There is College Basketball, you know!)

I specifically wanted to tune into see what Savage would do. "Nothing original," is the best I can say; maybe not even anything which couldn't have been taped last week. That's pretty sad for a show that supposedly was done live. Next week, I probably won't watch at all.

I should read what I'm posting. I would like to replace that guess segment with a *guest* segment please. :)

Michael was referring to the sedition act of 1918. See this link regarding the sedition act on his website.
http://www.homestead.com/prosites-prs/seditionact.html

Could you tell me where I can verify your allegation that this sedition act was repealled? If you are correct Michael will loose alot of credibility.

Leilani signed up 030303? Get outtatown BOZO. I've been posting here for about five more years than you have. Ask Jim Robinson. Your post is so dishonest, it raises legitimate suspicion for a lot of people about WHO & WHY you are so intent on deceiving people re Savage. WHY? Why would you deliberately attemp to perpetrate a fraud here? You're not doing your friend Mr. Savage any favors, hon.

What we may be seeing is a sweeping realization by cable news networks that they will NOT stay up in the ratings unless they go "conservative"...maybe conservatives views are about to take over cable news like they have talk radio.
I flipped over to MSNBC the other night, and behind Lester Holt, in the background was patriotic graphics and a portrait of GWB...Lester's segement was showing pro-U.S. 'military-might' video--MSNBC may have realized that they will have to be more pro Bush--pro America to survive.

This is the first time I have ever seen or heard this Savage fellow. I like his views. But.......

1. MSNBC is known for their cheep sets. But Savage's set was by far the worst. It was almost if MSNBC (a liberal channel, despite their efforts to look more "balanced"), gave him the set they felt he and his political views deserved. It seems if they thought they could have gotten away with it, they would have had Savage do his show from a sewer.

Bad camera angle and ONE camera. NO money was put into this set. And yet they are capable of giving those they agree with their best, as in the Donna Who's set they used when they tried to save their idol's ratings. In Savage's case, it is if they are trying their best to dump his ratings.

2. He needs live guests! That one camera angle got very tiring.

3. Too many issues for one show. The war issue is #1 in the minds of Americans right now. He should have stuck just to that. Notice, no callers wanted to talk about Affirmative Action. So he wasted that important subject, when he should have saved it for another show exclusively

4. On the issue of the Kurd's death video. The libs know about it. They have seen it. They just don't care! And if you confront them, they simply say that it was the U.S. who gave Saddam the gas. So, in their insane minds, it was the U.S. who gassed those poor people, not Saddam.

I find he has a hard time keeping one subject in his mind for more that a few minutes. He goes from one thing to another. He rants appropriately and INappropriately. In other words, he is at times totally discombobulated. IMHO that is.
