Yup. And he needs to stop wagging his finger at us. He is also very hard to look at. As someone said, he has a face for radio.

Agree. I like the fact that he has the guts to say what he does. Don't care where, radio or TV. It's stuff that needs saying 24/7 until the fools realize we are in serious danger here.

First impressions...(without reading anything that follows)
MSNBC is such a crappy channel. Low budget all the way. About the only good thing about them is that they split the ratings with CNN, allowing FoxNews to be number one.
Any network that would give a show to Phil Donahue is a waste of time. But I did tune in out of curiosity, being it was Savage's first show.
The set is dreadful. The show is basically Savage's radio show with video. I really have no desire to see a radio show on TV. I'd rather just listen to the radio while doing other things.
Personally, I think the show sucks, as does MSNBC as a whole. This is not a slam against Savage. I like the Savage radio show. But MSNBC is clearly not putting very much into this production.

Remember Rush Limbaugh? His TV show was a flop It was?
That's not how I remember it.
My recollection is that Rush was on broadcast TV, not cable. His show was relegated to the overnight hours, and in those hours, in most or all markets, I believe he generally had ratings that greatly exceeded his competition and anything before or after that ran overnight. (And I don't think the rating knew how to account for folks like me who taped the show and watched it the next day.)
I'm not one of those who thinks Rush walks on water, but suggesting that his TV show was a failure, in the same terms as say Jerry Rivers' latest effort, is unfair. It's is probably true that it didn't provide an avenue to bigger and better things for Rush, which is what he was probably looking for. But it wasn't a failure.

Without Rush's TV show, the video of Slick coming out of Ron Brown's funeral would have never seen the light of day.
Slick came out joking and laughing and, when he spotted some TV cameras, started crying.

Actually, he didn't do too badly. The MESSAGE is what we need to be getting out and he does a nice job at reminding America just how NUTS the Leftist Extremists really are. The video clips of the murdered Kurds must be terribly hard for the left to see tho...Saddams's such a likeable fellow don't you know??

Totally agree. I've never heard Savage before. I listen mornings to either Rush, Dennis Prager or O'Reilly. I'm very impressed with Savage. I'll tune in again to this Saturday show.
Funny comment about the "Chef of the Future" bit though, that another poster mentioned. M.S. will iron that out. Probably just the 1st show jitters.

I agree that MSNBC did not do their best for him!
I am trying to remember that his show is reaching people who would never be exposed to him otherwise. That might make it worthwhile!!!

Well, I didn't notice it being a setup call at all---not that those things don't happen, such as lieing to the screener, bad language, etc......but can't they say that on TV? Is turd a bad word? Seems I heard that on before. Maybe its not MSNBC-correct.
To: ml/nj
Well, I say it was a "failure"..and considering the comments being made well in advance of Michael Savage's first TV appearance, and considering the slamming he took well into the first five minutes of his show, I feel more qualified to give my statement than the ones I've read against Savage on this thread.
Different strokes, is all...

I was not aware of a delay...but maybe there was something worse coming. I guess that with it being live...they took no chances!

Will there be any repeats?

Well, that sucked. The show today was just radio with an annoying picture.
If this is how it is going to be, MSNBC has blown it again.
"Broadcast News" was running on Bravo channel at the same time. It was
overwhelmingly more entertaining than Savage Nation. My TIVO won't be
season-ticketing Michael's show.

"Actually, he didn't do too badly".
Agree his show needs a little polish, but it's the message that he is getting out there, which is what we are looking for.
The hour went by very fast, didn't it?!

I am trying to remember that his show is reaching people who would never be exposed to him otherwise. That might make it worthwhile!!! True enough. I think Savage is an outstanding talk show host. But that's essentially what the TV show is - a radio talk show with video. If the show can deliver another few hundred thousand listeners (or more) to Savage's radio show, then it will be a worthwhile venture. I believe Rush Limbaugh captured a lot of lifetime listeners that way during his short-lived TV days.
Maybe even FoxNews will pick him up someday and do right by him.

LOL! But someone can't say turd-world-nation on MSNBC? Go figure.

I guess it is a good thing you are already "on our side".
You may miss something that you had forgotten or never seen in "pictures".

Your comments are a perfect addition to mine!
Thank you.
I can't agree more about the addition of new listeners to his radio show. I am sure Rush was introduced to many people who were not "radio" people.

Rush decided to quit the show.
Barring a significant format change, quitting will not be Savage's call.
It's too bad really, because I generally agree with him and I think that he is actually educated which is a rarity amongst the guys I can hear on the radio. (Grant is the only other one that comes to mind.) But this TV show sucks.
