It is past time for the UN to be finished when a country like Syria is on the SC, Libya is going to chair a human rights commission this spring and worst of all -- Iraq is going to chair a disarmament committee in May.

Rush now saying info continues to conflict, whether or not we got the sons we must be very close. Fox is saying seven AQ captured possibly some are OBL's sons. I'm betting they are trying to id them.

This guy reminds of Lawrence of Arabia speaking to the Arabs: "It is time to be great again."

He seems indignant at the thought of anyone circumventing the U.N. - we're the only party in town, how dare you consider other options?
To: RobFromGa; Braak
He had to be speaking to the clueless French guy.

Where is that fork ?
To: Howlin
I just saw the French Foreign Minister actually say that "War is ALWAYS and admission of FAILURE". In that case D-DAY was just a waste of time. I knew we should have let the nazis keep those spineless sniveling cowards

"That's not my dog."
To: Maigrey
The French are playing a bluff with no hand at all. And they are playing on the real loooooong shot that the US /UK coalition is going to back down from all this because they don't have the UN blessing. They're in for a big surprise.

I heard that the Iraqi chairing the "committee on disarmament" is OFF...the UN thought better of it.

War is always an acknowledgement of failure" - Dominique de Villepin He's absolutely right.
But the failure is Iraq's, not ours.

The fact that the best insult they can come up with is "cowboy" shows how pathetically irrelevant they are. It's telling that they're extremely uncomfortable with the idea of individuals who are prepeared to defend themselves, their property, and their sense of justice using private armed force, without need of any State

France is really painting themselves in a diplomatic corner. When -- not if -- we invade Iraq and topple Saddam, and expose the large cache of WMD we know is there and that presents a credible, immediate and substantial threat to civilized nations, what will France be able to say to defend their position? They're leaving very little wiggle room after the war.
To: goodnesswins
Frenchie is right, "war is an acknowledgement of failure." Like failing to fire on the German troops in 1935 when they marched into the Rhineland, failure to stand up for Czechoslovakia in 1938, failure to aid Poland in her hour need, etc.
