Fox News reporting the first five flowers of the Waldorf in NYC evacuated because of a suspicious package.

Colin Powell is staying there.

One of the dots I've connected is quite an interesting one from a historical perspective. The roots of the Persian Gulf War go back to 1973, and the responsibility for it lies squarely on the shoulders of Lyndon Johnson.

Now how's that for a big-picture look at things?

It came out in the "minorities will die first" BS that while blacks are concentrated in support/logistics roles, Latinos consistently max out on their training scores and volunteer for combat missions.

I have a nephew who is a major in the combat engineers

He said Hispanics are EXCELLENT troops and would have no problem at all if they gave him a command of entirely hispanic troops thay are that good

we're concerned that they might DEVELOP a nuclear weapon with the capacity they've developed

As my last post to you suggested, you really ought to learn something about this before you sound off. This is from the CIA report to Congress last November:

The US has been concerned about North Korea's desire for nuclear weapons and has assessed since the early 1990s that the North has one or possibly two weapons using plutonium it produced prior to 1992.

The NKs apparently also have an untested ballistic missile that likely could hit the west coast. They could hit Seoul with a rubber-band catapult, and have the missile capacity to hit anywhere in Japan. They have five hundred or so surface to surface missiles, many with chemical or biological warheads.

The concern now is not that they might develop nuclear weapons, they already have them, but that they might reactivate plutonium processing capabilities and start increasing their arsenal, perhaps to the point of having enough to sell.

There aren't actually any good options with NK. If the Administration was doing anything other than taking it slow, they really would be the reckless cowboys the Left claims they are. Taking out Saddam before he attains such capacities is something we can do with far less danger.

Maybe he just could have brought respect and dignity back to the White House. Things like that. Less serious stuff.

Some leaders are marked by history for interesting lives. They usually don't really like it. Bush is like that. Blair too, I think.

No, the folks on this board are fixated with the Middle East, and don't care about the N Korean threat, the need for "?regime change" in N Korea, or the welfare of the N Korean people, who are as oppressed as Saddam's subjects. For freepers, it's because the book of Revelation doesn't mention N Korea.

Sonny, you are a such a naughty little kid. If you took the time to read the Revelation of Jesus Christ you would see that the description of the great city, "Babylon the Great, Mother of Harlots", fits Hollywood much better than it fits Iraq, or any other city or nation. The entire book is a parable, e.g., swords proceed out of mouths; lamb as it had been slain; beasts; living creatures; wings of a great eagle; great woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet; etc.. When you read it (or, if necessary, someone reads it to you), pay attention to the part where the dead bodies of the Lord's two witnesses' lay in the street of the Great City (Babylon the Great), and that the city is spiritually called "Sodom and Egypt". Does that sound like Iraq? No. Now, climb back into your sandbox like a good little boy and let the big boys handle our national security.

Christopher Robin Dodd actually said on LKL tonite that Bush should have a conference with ex-presidents to see what they recommend. I almost fell off my chair laughing.

I'm sure President Bush has had extensive conversations with the only ex-president who matters in this case -- President Bush.

(and for those of you in Rio Linda, this does NOT mean that George W. Bush is schizophrenic)

Even in his current condition, President Reagan, God bless him, would make more sense on the Iraq issue than Bubba and Jimmah put together.

Really, really pitiful thinking on Waitress Sandwich Dodd's part.

Gerald Ford, Sick Sick Willie, and Jimmah (Nobel Crap laureate) Cahtah, the Peanut Brain, advising George W Bush??

It is to laugh. But it's not funny.

Sorry, I did not see yours. Could not read all 1,000. Glad to know someone besides me saw it. It was great.

Hope Scarborough runs again later. I was gone and missed it.

Bush is BRILLIANT. He makes the UN vote yea or nay. So...

1. They vote "nay" and reveal themselves as mindless fools since they already DID vote FOR 1441.

2. They vote "Yea" and show themselves to be spineless wimps who for months have been saying just the opposite.

3. They abstain and show they can't even bring themselves to decide on such a weighty matter!

I love this President of ours!

Agree on Terry Moran. I wanted to smack that SOB right in his smarmy snotty face tonight.

The worst thing about him is that he is ALWAYS that way. He works with Peter Jennings so I guess we can't expect much.

These days it's hard to know where to lay the blame...whether on the Al Quada or the Peacenik kooks. Things are really heating up. MAYBE this will convince NY dems that this is war and it's right here in the USA.

I figure the good/evil in the world is more like 10,000 random forces that cross here and there, every day, than it is like 2 or 10 massive forces "who" actually have a shot at ruling the world.

But I love good conspitacy theories (throwing tinfoil hat to the cold night wind)
