2) he's going to honor his oath to protect the citizens of the United States with or without global approval.Absolutely the best part of the speech.
The other part I liked was that all he wanted to hear from Blix was a yes or no on whether or not Iraq disamred.

then that makes Bush a "coward" with N Korea, because he doesn't favor an invasion.an invasion would accomplish nothing -- north korea is one place where a single decent airstrike, taking out their reactor and their spent fuel pond, would solve the problem.
i've answered your question; now you can answer mine: do you use some special implement, or does a regular razor work okay when you shave off the mushrooms in the morning?

There are reports coming out of North Korea that many of the higher ups are becoming concerned with Il's shenanigans.

Speaking of child-like pests, Gary Hart is on O'Reilly denouncing Bush. Shouldn't there be some kind of protection clause where has-beens aren't allowed on television?
To: churchillbuff
Nah sweetie, you are just interminablly stupid, people keep saying the same thing to you over and over and you just don't grasp it. You are giving most of us a headache.

>>Since the War Powers act, the president can start hostilities without Congress approval<<
But he can't do THIS:
"and the President is hereby authorized and directed to employ the entire naval and military forces of the United States and the resources of the Government to carry on war and, to bring the conflict to a successful termination, all of the resources of the country are hereby pledged by the Congress of the United States."
To: churchillbuff
He says containment and diplomacy will do. He did not say that. Put another quarter in and try again.

Yes!! Listening to Newt I'm beginning to understand that this press conference was for the UN and our "allies" even more than it was for us. Which explains the absence of a bunch of American flags.

Gary Hart is such a piece of ****! He says "the President did not state what the objective of invading Iraq was. Was he listening? I thought I heard something about a regime change about 100 times.
Call Donna Rice and go get take out Chinese, Gary.

**I honestly don't have the stomach to watch the liberal pukes on CNN rip Bush apart tonight.**
I turned to Spitting Chris Matthews (no FNC in my house I'm 'fraid) and it was some better than Communist News Network

O'Reilly wants to know why the world (or why so many people) don't support the Iraq effort, or "why they hate us" and "why didn't Bush answer that one." Newt's answer was great: ~~ the president's role is not to be an analyst~~his role is to clearly state the American position. Period.

Gary Hart is John Kerry without Kerry's half a brain.

attention all,CHURCHILLBUFF IS REALLY A TEENY BOPPER,,IGNORE HIM,,,HE IS A PEST Gotcha.
I sure am getting a lot of practice ignoring people lately.

I thought this was President Bush's finest press conference. His demeanor was so somber and so steely,he may as well have declared that the war has begun. My two favorite parts were when he said that he is going to call for a vote,so everyone in the Security Council is forced to put their cards on the table and when he almost got teary, saying he was humbled by the knowledge that so many Americans pray for him daily, people he will never meet and be able to thank. Nastiest questioner was Peter Jenning's acolyte-Terry Moran, unless that was Helen with a new 'do' and her lips plumped.
To: Right_in_Virginia
Didn't you like the part where he reminded Terry Moran that he had asked him the exact same question back in October -- and that Moran was wrong then, too?
I sure did.

Chrissy would have much rather he had been given the opportunity to label him "giggling" and "drunk".
"Once a Clintonite....."...etc etc etc.
Consider the source.
To: churchillbuff
Clinton didn't pressure Iraq to disarm. Bush has begun to do so - let's see how it goes. One minute you want us to invade North Korea, the next you want to give Iraq another 20 chances. Pick a side pal.
