A question on Vietnam????
To: arasina
Good answer on the "could this turn into another Vietnam?" question.
To: Recovering_Democrat
Who?
To: HighRoadToChina
Yes, but now is not the time.
To: churchillbuff
I wouldn't bother asking that question anymore if I were you. I have seen at least ten people answer you and outline why NK is being handled differently than Iraq. Just because you don't like the answers, or don't understand them, doesn't mean they are not true. Go back and read other people's posts to you and think about what they are saying.

Robert Deans , Cox...about Vietnam....hasn't threatened anyone since the war ended....what can you say to Americans to assure us we won't go down same path...
President...clear mission....disarmament, means regime change....no doubt there's risks....but its very clear what we intend to do....our mission won't change....

A pre-emptive strike [against N Korea] will be in order - but all in good time.
Bush doesn't agree. He says containment and diplomacy will do. AGAIN, IF HE'S RIGHT - WHY ISN'T THAT ALSO THE WAY TO GO WITH IRAQ? Nobody has - or can - explain why. Freepers merely get mad at me because I've got a thing about consistency and I have a problem with double standards. ONCE AGAIN, IF NORTH KOREA WERE IN THE BOOK OF REVELATION, THE FUNDIES ON THIS BOARD WOULD BE ALL FOR INVADING N KOREA, I BET.

Jim, he has made the decision...not an easy one...it is a heavy burden he is carrying right now...I can see what he is feeling...he loves this country and knows in his heart he is doing what is right...but what a burden he carries, you can't blame him for his subdued manner tonite.

And the Prez said it was a good question. I was ready to punch the reporter.
To: k2blader

Again, what are you idiots talking about? There is no where all doomed talk here. We are just ready.

Last time I went to the dentist he filled one cavity at a time starting with the one that was about to abcess. Buy a clue. Besides your wrong about revelations not mentioning the area Korea is in. Maybe before you make your points about a book you ought to read it first.

This President is a good man. His oath means a great deal to him.
Remember when he was Governor and candidate - he still signed the authorities for executions in Texas, knowing how his opponents were using those actions against him. Yes, he is a good man!

"Regime-change" in Vietnam? Must have missed that! And I was there, too.

(Where are we going? And what's with this handbasket???)
Our mission is clear in Iraq: Disarmament, regime change
We have a plan to accomplish it if we have to send our military in.
To: section9
Some SOB just compared this to Viet Nam. Jerk.
To: All
I knew we wouldn't get through this without hearing a question about Vietnam... sigh.
To: mhking
I honestly know VERY little about Vietnam except from what my parents have told me (dad was in the Army in the mid 60s-he was drafted and served his time) but Iraq is NOTHING like what I've heard Nam was like...
