NATIONS -- U.N. peacekeepers recently spotted armed U.S. Marines cutting a fence between Kuwait and Iraq, an act which was reported to the Security Council on Thursday as a possible violation of international law.

U.N. spokesman Fred Eckhard said peacekeepers who monitor a demilitarized zone set up after the 1991 Persian Gulf War between Iraq and Kuwait reported "numerous violations," since March 4 "by personnel in civilian clothes in 4 x 4 vehicles, at least some of whom were armed and identified themselves as U.S. Marines."

U.S. diplomats had no immediate comment on the matter.

Who cares, there is no such thing as international law unless the United States says so, for the rest of the nations of the world, just remember you all owe your very lives to us and the marshall plan from WWII.

Perhaps the UN should send in some inspectors to check the fence.

The way I see it we have about 19 UN resolutions coming before we take them seriously. Then we can just slow down the rate at which we are cutting fences to show some good faith movement!

Maybe they should pass a resolution and after 12 years send Hans Blix to investigate this fence cutting, and then keep giving his inspections a "chance to work". Then, we can discuss another resolution whereas another violation will cause a third resolution to be passed. After a while Cameroon and Togo can send a delegation to the disputed fence areas and report back to the Security Council about progress. Then we can see what we can do after their report.

Perhaps the U.N. could draft a resolution or two, and we'll get back to them when we're a bit less busy protecting the land their building sits on..........
