like bin Laden, you go into deep cover as a few specks of DNA discreetly sprinkled in the rubble of Tora Bora
I love that line!

Thanks Pokey.
Mike Farrell played that guy. Not the guy you remember, but the guy you remember for not being as good as the guy you remember.

My problem with old Europe is that its taken on the characteristic of its capitals most famous statue: a small boy who just stands there pissing 24 hours a day. A memorable smack.

Best line yet!

Trapper John left after the second season Actually, it was the third season.
and some other fellow took over, and people spent the next 20 years saying he wasnt as good as Trapper John.
And B.J. has never gotten over it.

Good article, and it supports my thoughts on our ever-present liberal "gun control" assault on liberty.
As Steyn mentions -- The U.S. military is busy in Iraq, N. Korea threatens nuclear war, and NATO allies are turning tail.
The time for supporting and strengthening a well armed America militia is NOW.

Thanks, Pokey78. The usual delicious Steyn.

Exquisite, again. I'd really like to see Mark carried twice weekly in the WSJ and OpinionJournal.com. His style is reminiscent.
Is it my imagination, or are his pieces getting longer? His readership appears to be increasing; maybe he's getting more space.
This guy is prolific, indeed. A Canadian treasure.

For most of its members, the free world is a free lunch... I kinda like that one too.

Its time to add State to the list requiring top-to-toe dismantling. Good article in general, and I particularly think he's right on this one.
State has mishandled things badly on the other side of the pond, but also in our own hemisphere, where Latin America is turning into chaos and we seem to be wondering what to do. Or deciding not to do anything until it gets even worse, perhaps.

Mike Ferret is a leftist, has-been celebrity weasel.
That is, he will never work again.

Asked to account for the stark difference in appearance, several experts pointed out that hes a master of disguise. In that case, the master of disguise is doing a great job of convincingly passing himself off as a guy whos been sleeping in a hedge for a month.Priceless.
What a brilliant PR move is that picture of SKM -- it's got to be totally demoralizing to the other Islamokazis-in-hiding.

They were, of course, opposed to war with Iraq, for all the usual Democratic reasons, including this one: The nations almost forgotten war on terrorism has been seriously neglected because of the administrations preoccupation with Iraq and Saddam Hussein.Delicious ain't it!

The State Department: Even when theyre not actively sabotaging the Presidents policies or handing out boxes of visas on the streets of Riyadh, the State Department is having a poor war. Every aspect of the situation delegated to State goes awry, and every assurance from the striped-pants set proves worthless: oh, dont worry, the French are on board for Resolution 1441; relax, the Turkish votes in the bag. Bush has an uphill struggle against the culture of complacency in many federal agencies. Its time to add State to the list requiring top-to-toe dismantling. This paragraph should be shouted from the rooftops a la Howard Beale.
