Wanted to share this with all of you. I have not seen so many people who know someone who is being called, not lie this since 'Nam. I got this in email yesterday from a friend who is an Army Captain.

Hello my fellow friends,

The time has come to say a brief farewell as I embark on a new life experience. Being deployed and far away from one's loved ones and friends is very difficult. I am prepared physically, but it is the emotional and psychological aspect of being away from home that is the killer. I do not know how long I will be away or where I will end up. My orders are for one year (maybe less, maybe more) in a hot, humid and sandy environment (can't reveal any more than that at this point). May God be with you all! Take care!

God speed to all our military and may God and his angels watch over them and encompass them in a protective circle.

Welcome to the Canteen, & thank you for sharing that email with us!

Having spent a few years in the Navy, the worst part was, & probably always WILL be, the good-byes to family & friends.
