Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, after lying low for most of her first two years, is emerging as one of the Senate's most prominent and influential Democrats, moving aggressively on fundraising and policy matters and fueling speculation that she plans to run for president in 2008.
The only first lady to have served in the Senate, Clinton is playing a key role in a behind-the-scenes effort to create at least one new political group, funded with so-called soft money, to promote the Democratic agenda in the 2004 elections and beyond, Democratic officials said. With her help, leading Democrats are putting the finishing touches on a new "activist think tank" designed to crank out policy ideas and disseminate them to voters without running afoul of the new campaign finance laws, the officials said.

Some Democrats privately worry that Clinton is moving too quickly. "There are some people inside the caucus grumbling, suggesting she wants to bring more of a war-room mentality to the Senate than some senators are comfortable with," said a top Senate Democratic aide. "Others think this also has to be viewed with her future presidential runs and national ambitions in mind." A PING A LING Y'ALL

Clinton, after lying low for most of her first two years ROTFLOL!!!!
What's not "lying low?" Riding bare-breasted down Pennsylvania Avenue brandishing a sword and singing, "Die Valkyrie?"

Good morning Mo,
Hey, this foreign policy cluster up we're in right now is a direct result of the Clinton (two-fer) presidency's inaction for eight years. I'm praying that the majority of Americans realize that President Bush is simply cleaning up the mess they left in the White House, the nation, and the world.

I watched her on the floor of the Senate yesterday. She was (as usual) loud and abrasive, rude, trivial and predictable, very demanding, made erroneous comments and looked like hell. Why anyone sees her as a threat is beyond me. Who would vote for her? What does she have to offer?

Gee, the Washington Post finally recognizes she is amassing power. PhiKapMom knew she was running things a year and a half ago, and knew she had a war room. Ha!

I'm afraid this is wishful thinking. All of my dim friends adore the witch. They are very bright people, too. I don't understand it; almost as if they are brainwashed.

With the democrats constantly attacking the President's policies, worldwide anti-war (actually anti-Bush/American) protests, and the media's complicity, I've got to be a 'glass half full' type of person. Yet I think logistics have a lot to do with it. I can honestly say I personally do not know one single democrat, have yet to speak with anyone who doesn't support the President wholeheartedly, and see flags and pro-US billboards still going up on a daily basis. I doubt Hillary! can carry Alabama.

....loud and abrasive, rude, trivial and predictable, very demanding, made erroneous comments and looked like hell. Aren't those the primarily characteristics of most Democrats? ;)

oops. Primary characteristics.
