First of all I would like to give thanks to the people of Free Republic for giving us a podium in which to make our voices heard. It is very important for us to get our voices heard and sometimes it feels like we are so out-numbered by those on the left. So thank you Free Republic for the opportunity. For those of you out there who agree with me, please continue to support them for that right.

What I said was: "If you want to pray in school, go ahead, it is your constitutionally protected right, as is saying 'under God' during the pledge, or not saying the pledge at all." But that's not what this court decision is about. This decision BANS the speaking of the pledge. There's a difference, is there not?
I just said that church and state laws prohibit reqiring such. I said the pledge of allegiance every day as a kid.
There are no "church and state laws". Find me one.
The first amendment prevents the government from making any law restricting the exercise of religion. It specifically DOES NOT allow the government to squish religion under its jackboots, as you seem to like.

I think that Fox is the most conservative of news providers on television. I bet your 84% figure for dems is dead on. I wasn't making a sarcastic commment. I am assuming that he really didn't include those in his 'schools and media' comment.
I never claimed that Rush or Savage were/had to be neutral. I just maintain that they are part of the media.

Where did I say I like to stomp on religion? If someone does or doesn't want to pray in school or say 'under God' during the pledge, it is none of my business.

I agree that Fox is the most conservative of news providers on television, but I don't think heavily biased is the right way to describe it.
You may maintain that Rush and Savage are a part of the media, but I would maintain that they are not biased in the way that most Republicans complain about. I have a problem with news anchor X twisting facts around, 99% of whom reside on other networks besides Fox News.

Glad to be of service :)

So glad to see your post! I was screaming at Matt and Katie this morning myself! I was so furious how they so obviously undermined our position on Iraq, and gave the floor to every left wing RAT possible! The female former Clinton advisor speaking about Korea and saying we need leadership sent me into hysterics!
I was emailing the Today show with smoking keyboard telling them where to stuff their so called "news" show.

'sok.
Just you and TOTO?

IMHO, the 9th Circuit's percentage of cases overturned will rise as soon as the SCOTUS hears this one. I have always thought we have "Freedom of Religion", not "Freedom from Religion"
or, I always have thought that was what the founders intended.
They did not want A State Religion, like they had left behind in England. I think it was one of the many reasons they fought for Independence from Great Britain.
Activist courts have been trying to twist the founder's intent for many, many years. Sort of like, if you tell a lie over and over, folks will begin to believe it as fact.
