Fox News contributor on with Brit Hume said, in passing really, that 9 other Al-Qaeda operartives had been captured with KSM. Some reports had listed Saif al-Adel as captured but this is the first that I had heard of a larger group captured. Any FReepers have more information?

If they got him, it's big. They must have been on these guys for a little while and I'd guess simultaneous hits.

I don't think anything that man says is "in passing". He is extremely articulate, and his explanation of current goings on, especially in concert with our Iraq plans, was very clarifying.
It really lets us know the "delays" are more a question of lining up ducks, than simply the obstructionism of the U.N.

Are you saying he is inaccurate or says too much? Personally I remember seeing him for the first time on FNC telling his bin Laden and Clinton story. I like him a lot, but have wondered who he working for at times...read, disinformation or political publicity.

I found the story at MSNBC...
US ID's second man siezed.. ..
The law enforcement and intelligence sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified Al-Hawsawi as the third man. Al-Hawsawi, 34, a native of Saudi Arabia, is described as a supporting conspirator in the indictment of Zacarias Moussaoui, the alleged 20th hijacker in the Sept. 11 attacks.
Federal prosecutors allege that Al-Hawsawi handled tens of thousands of dollars for the hijackers through bank accounts in the United Arab Emirates. He fled the UAE for Pakistan on the day of the attacks, according to the indictment.

I am saying that his accuracy rate ain't the best. He is very intelligent and comes from a well to do family. Again no matter who it is you have to verify evrything they tell you. No matter if it's CNN, MSNBC ABC or even Fox.

I can't believe I never saw him before this evening! His presentation was razor sharp, and you could tell Brit would have let him keep going if he hadn't run out of time. His accounting of events and how it all ties together was fascinating.

Mansoor Ijaz is THE most informed, and informative straight-shooter on the international war on terrorism on American television. He's terrific. This report is great news. I don't know anything about Ijaz's background, but he's obviously well-connected. The fact that FNC also has Bill Gertz as a military analyst is also quite a coup. I agree. These kinds of contributers help make FOX's #1 rating more than well deserved.

Ijaz is also a Muslim. He travels and goes into mosques throughout the world, listens to conversations. I wonder how long he'll be able to do so. He's also very pro-Bush.

One wonders if this capture was the reason for the Hong Kong bust of the $2 trillion counterfeiters.

I wish there was a way to know ahead of time when he'll be on. Sean Hannity said today on his radio show that Mansoor Ijaz will be appearing on Hannity & Colmes tonight (9PM EST).

"Ijaz is also a Muslim. He travels and goes into mosques throughout the world, listens to conversations. I wonder how long he'll be able to do so. He's also very pro-Bush." This summer he visited a number of mosques in Pakistan. I did hear him say that he didn't think we would be able to go back. He reported on all the 'craziness' he saw going on in the mosques.

Agree with your point about his prior analyses particularly during the Afghan campaign when he was a Paki booster and always sparring with Haroun Amin, the Northern Alliance spokesman who made the TV rounds.
FWIW, i still think Ijaz's true role in the Pearl fiasco has yet to fully come out. Not to mention Musharraf's bloody hands and the ISI linkages in L'Affaire Pearl.
Check out this recent piece by Ijaz.

Thanks. I was intrigued about his travels, but wondered how he was able to do so, report on them, and continue traveling safely. I do hope he watches his back. He's a very sharp man.

>His al-Qaeda codename is al-Mohtaram ("The Elder") and he is believed to have been hiding in Qatar
Apparently using the codename "The Engineer" has fallen out of favor among terrorists.
