How exciting!
NOT.
To: old-ager
I think it's pretty neat, and a good suggestion as well.

Yeah, really. Great idea (eye roll). Most of us are way over 30, and it's simply NOT WISE to start dialoging with minors.
With our luck, the kid's Mom will turn out to be a rabid liberal and accuse us of contributing to the delinquency of her baby.
To: old-ager
Maybe 5-years ago, it was cool when the media mentioned Freepers. Now it is normal :)

It is perfectly okay for a stranger, possbily in position of authority, to wax on about leftist ideals. But for someone to say something positive about right leaning ideals, one would be accused of brainwashing and indoctrination.

I think he mentions FReepers a lot actually ... He and Rush are both lurkers ... the content of their shows parallel closely the daily topics on FR far to frequently to be coincidence.

Maybe some of you are tired of it, but the more I hear of us mentioned in the mainstream media, the more I feel the country will be ok.

I'm waiting for the day that one of the major media outlets FOX, MSNBC, CNN calls Jim Rob to set up a Free Republic television show!

I'm not tired of it. The other day I heard lefty Eric Alterman - who is promoting a new book - complaining on C-Span about how committed Freepers were, while liberals just show up for one demonstration and then fizzle out and go home. Music to my ears.

Being one of the Old Ones, I think it is a good idea to get kids involved in conservitive politics.
If one of my Grand kids said, "Little Bill show us how to FReep the commies." I would say, "OK kid this is what you have to do............"
My Grand dad would have approved, he did the same thing.

a Free Republic television show! And what would such a show "show?" Would you take some of the participants in an especially interesting thread, invite them to the studio, and have them debate the topic in front of the camera?

I think it's a good idea to get them involved too, but only with parental participation.
Imagine a bunch of adult strangers showing up at a high-schooler's event. Then the revelation that they all showed up because they were in communication with the kid online.
There's just not too many ways to make that look or sound good...sorry, but that's the climate these days, and there's a reason for it.

Awesome!!!
Love it when we get mentioned; there's been a media blackout on us for too long. Just like Rush. They hate to quote him, or even acknowledge him.
Let's always hear it here when we are mentioned!
Wooo hoooo!!!!

Five years ago, the media had no idea who we are. In the past year, they know us, lurk, and still won't hardly mention us.
Only lately (two months) has this site been mentioned in the mainstream.
I personally love it! This site will hit a million members within 2 years. We are changing the world, thanks to Jim, and publicity is welcome.
