Rally Against War Profiteers---Wednesday, March 5th, 5 P.M. 601 Jefferson (Outside Brown and Root Building)

$$$$$$$ STOP WAR-PROFITEERING IN HOUSTON $$$$$$$

Kellogg, Brown and Root Government Operations, a subsidiary of Halliburton, formerly led by Vice-President Dick Cheney, provides a diverse range of services to all branches of the United States military and other Department of Defense and government agencies. They make billions in profits from war.

They represent the military-industrial complex which stands to get richer from the coming war in Iraq. They are both a cause and a symbol of our rush to war and have already signed billion-dollar contracts to profit from the destruction of Iraq by reconstructing it after the war.

On Ash Wednesday, March 5th at 5 pm concerned citizens will gather together in a festival of resistance to local war profiteering outside the Kellogg, Brown and Root Tower at 601 Jefferson. There will be speakers, music and symbolic burning of corporate dollars and placing of ashes made from war-profited dollars. All are encouraged to come and testify! All nonviolent creative resistance is invited and encouraged Join Reverend Bob, Father Todd and others in this mass (protest) against greed and violence.

Well it is more a Brown & Root (big-oil, big-pollution, big-"name your cause") demonstration.

They can't move on --- that is one of their biggest problems. They still trying to find out who they messed up Florida.

Thanks for the info. I passed it along to my brother, who works at Halliburton in Houston, and my sister-in-law, who works at Brown and Root. They made sure Halliburton security was aware of it.

I also checked out the Arizona side of IndyMedia. Freepers might appreciate the anti-war counter-demonstration photos. Posting at IndyMedia is as much fun as posting at CraigsList.

Good question. In one sense, this thread is part of the response. Logistics are not good for a typical counter-rally (mid-week while many are working). They won't have much of a crowd anyway (20-30 max). Making B&R aware of the leftists plans gives them a chance to at least mentally prepare for it.

Instead of signs and chants, if the leftists showed up with business attire and resumes, their outlooks on life would be much different.
