Reed also said he wasn't sure if they (dems) could get there but he'd try to get them there. I wonder why? Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

You think Garrett's been consulting that Ditech.com's answer ball? Amazing these guys are like psychics with the news. Why can't they just tell us what happened in today's news.

You and I are reading the same playbook. The vote that Senator Frist will introduce tomorrow will be the cloture vote -
Senator Hatch has been calling for the vote on Estrada every day. That is what the Dems have been denying, by objecting to the unanimous consent required.

Where did you learn all those fight terms? LOL

I am not in the "24/7 now or never" cheering section.I'm not either but to declare in advance that you won't do it or to rule it out as a tool is as good as surrendering.

I agree with your sentiments. Frist is doing well. We should win the nomination. If we don't win, then we must make the Rats pay the highest price possible. We need to go 24/7 begining Thursday.

Democrats are like elementary school bullies: they seemed invincible and tough when Republicans were frightened nerds who wouldn't face them, but now that the GOP is getting back in their faces I think they'll fold, like most bullies do. They're cowards inside (which is why they're so scared of a war: they might be the Baathist terrorists' targets.

Bingo ...we have a winner....
but now that the GOP is getting back in their faces I think they'll fold, like most bullies do. They're cowards inside

Hey, there!
I heard that you had to take a time out recently. Too bad, but you have come out of the time-box swinging. Good for you!
If I understand the issues sufficiently, I think that I may very well be the next in line for "corrective action." Certain posters on this thread seem to be bound and determined to make trouble, and I have never been one to back down from a fight.
Keep your guard up, but remember: you don't win any points on defense.

We need to go 24/7 begining Thursday. And all throught he weekend if necessary. I assume our missing R Senators are arriving this week and that the Dems have some juicy fundraising commitments they will miss making quorum calls.

but to declare in advance that you won't do it or to rule it out as a tool is as good as surrendering. Maybe. Maybe not. So far, I think the GOP has clearly expressed that they would rather not, and therefore haven't ruled it out. But, even if a GOP senator supposedly "ruled it out," the word of 15 senators makes it happen. I can hear something like "In light of the rpesent circumstances, which we did not anticipate, we are calling for cloture LOUD AND CLEAR."
Surrender is the final act, and in Estrada's case, is signaled when the GOP pulls the matter off the floor, but not before.

"If Lott were in charge, we would have nominated Bill Clinton to the post by now."
LOL!!
Buton a more serious note
You said: "I predict that Estrada will eventually get confirmed, but even if he does not (emphasis mine) the Dems will have paid such a price that it doesn't really matter in the broad scheme of things."
I wont stand for "if he does not." And if history shows us anything, its that the American voter cant remember the outrage committed by the Dems last week, forget the many months between now and the next election! They NEVER seem to "pay a price"---or the Senate would now have a Republican in Mary Landrieus seat, and the dinosaurs in New Jersey, etc. (Yes, I know we won back the Senate, but by a whisker. Every last one of them running for office shouldve been turned out. The American voter (by and large) is apathetic.)

The vote that Senator Frist will introduce tomorrow will be the cloture vote - Did Frist say this? If so, it is big news. Or, was the reporter speculating. As one poster said above, reading his Magic 8-ball (that's what they called 'em when I was a kid, I guess now they are the DiTech Answer Ball. sigh)

I dream of the day I can add little cartoons. I sent my first email with attachment last week. My 37 year old son is still laughing but like the polite gentleman he is, he sent a note of Congatulations "with a question mark".
